The gf is coming home tomorrow so this will likely be a no-go for me this weekend. Plus the passenger window is currently not working and it's stuck in the down position. The good news it the car is running and will be getting a much needed tune in the very near future. I'll see if the gf...
Actually I think it turned out great and I liked how "plug n play" the whole mod was. If I had to say something negative about it, that would have to be where the last coil sits on the 6th cylinder plug is directly in the way of where the throttle cable assembly sits and it was a small PITA to...
Thanks man! I'm really happy that I ended up with this car, it brings me so much joy to just drive around and listen to it purr!
And uh... sorry about your keyboard sir. :P
Box in my mail box today gave me something to do tonight. The coil harness I ordered from DM showed up and immediately got cut apart and extended and then installed. The harness was the last thing I was waiting for to put the car back together from tearing out the stock injectors, AFM and FPR...
I have a huge "if" my car is running. I'm actually right smack in the middle of a COP mod AND a lexus afm/550cc injector/SAFC2/AFPR install... Was hoping to be done next week but I still gotta tune the beast once it's up and running.
Currently I'm waiting on a new coil harness so I can mod it...
The 550s that I installed are high impedance which is fine as long as you remove the resistor pack from the mix. From what I understand, there are only 1 year ('87 iirc) of RX7 550cc injectors that are plug and play and low impedance and considering that the RX7s only used 2 of these per car...
Been amassing some parts and making sure everything I need and will be installed correctly the first time so I won't have any problems upon start up.
That being said here are some pics of the latest updates!
The goodies!
From a GS300 for the coil on plug mod:

Good god man! I've always been told to hide an ugly weld all you have to do is throw some paint on it... This is clearly not true LOL! Don't make me fly down there and give you a welding lesson!
The supra is currently in the process of getting the lexus afm/550 injector swap and the coil on plug mod done to her. While she's having that done I was looking at my hks style air filter and ordered a replacement for that and a couple other things. The leggy needs a bath... badly! And now...
Just read this whole thread and would like to replace the stock door speakers in my 87. I don't have the 91-92 door pods but I'd like to get some of the polk db series speakers. Am I stuck with the 401s since I have the pre 91 door pods or will the 501s fit? Thank in advance!
So I saw this post earlier and am in the middle of this "COP" mod on my car with the exception of the harness lengthening process, which brings me to my question! Does DM have a harness already made for this mod? I had a fruitless search on DM.
Also I sleep on occasion! Last couple months...
I dunno man... you look A LOT like this "Bruce Campbell" you speak of... at least in that pic anyway. I think I'll keep my image of you being "Bruce Campbell", it's more fun! LOL!
I've heard that the first evil dead movies were hilarious, I'll check 'em out.
Every time I look at your build thread and see your avatar I imagine that's what you really look like every time you're posting pics of recent updates... Please tell me that pic is really you and that beaming face is from the joy you get from working on that gorgeous supra of yours.
I've done a few google searches and seems everything that I can find on the subject supports what you guys are telling me here... which makes me wonder what other advice the guy has given me that might be flawed.
There must be some merit in letting the car warm up before driving it, at least a few people have heard of doing just that. I'm not saying once the engine is warm to go tearing off out of the drive way mind you. I normally let the stock temp gauge move up to the first line and then drive...
