    Building an Engine "Tight"

stock block 7m's will make more than that, and stock block 2jz's will make a lot more than that (both reliably for thousands of miles) ::dead horse:: A lot of factors come into play as to why engines fail. If Ian's had as much success as he has assembling the engine the way he did... that's that.

What experiences have you had using your brake set-up (pads in specific)

Some guys on the VW forums were talking about them, one guy had been running hawk HP+ previously and said they were much better suited for track use than the HP+s http://blog.caranddriver.com/performance-brake-pads-compared-hawk-hps-hawk-hp-plus-ebc-yellowstuff/ Here's what I saw. The charts...

What experiences have you had using your brake set-up (pads in specific)

This is true, however as soon as I made plans to up the power output, plans to improve braking were already in motion. Stock brakes do work well, but if you're punishing them they won't like it too much.

What experiences have you had using your brake set-up (pads in specific)

Damn, one reply with 46 views (and more on mobile devices). I guess Ian and I are the only two people to use aftermarket brakes. o_O Anywho, I saw some test results from a few severely abused brake pads. Looked like the EBC yellow held up the best. I think I'll give those a spin this time...

What are you guys missing in parts/service/manufacturing support for the MK3 Chassis?

definitely down for poly bushings (all of them) t4 manifold that fits (divided) solid axle swap would be good front splitter w/ undertray adaptors for other brake calipers/rotors

I looked around and didn't really see any threads quite like this. So here it is. Feel free to discuss what pads/rotors you use. I'm really looking for experience with pads, but any specific input is welcome. I'll start out. In the past I ran Hawk carbon/ceramic race pads on my car with...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

yeah I just ordered new glass housings for now to see how they fit. I may order the front retainers for them and make custom mounts for the rear. I'm assuming they're the same width. I also think the bulbs plug into the existing harness as well.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

going to try mount them, see about modifying the armature. the z31 lights look to be about half the height of the stock supra lights, but still have the same factory look of that era

Anyone tried to graft 87 trim onto 89 center tail-light?

hm.... I might be buying a new set of tail lights, since I can't find any good used ones, in that case, I'll probably get a set of fiberglass 89+ trim, and have all the trim painted gunmetal or something so tempted to be semi-lazy and keep the 88 trim, but I can't find any used lenses for L or...

Anyone tried to graft 87 trim onto 89 center tail-light?

hm... well I'm in the process of aquiring a couple 89+ center pieces. I may still have a broken one around here somewhere too... if I figure out a good way to do it, I'll document it

    Advice on New muffler

:yelrotflm Yeah, I had one like that. mine has a resonator now, but the casing on the muffler for sound-deadening is only .5" (4" on 3" ID) so it's still pretty loud and raspy. low frequency resonation is borderline too much My tuner made mine, it's getting the flat black treatment...

    Advice on New muffler

I'm going to recommend this as well. I've heard these and they are reasonably quiet, but still have excellent sound. I've run magnaflows on all of my cars, but to be honest, they are a little on the loud side, although they sound reeally good.

    Flateric's, Rocket Red Road Sled!

I was just enjoying reading over your thread (which is a great read, BTW :D) but I noticed something I just inquired about the other day. (well half of it anyhow) I noticed you took the trim off of your 89+ tail-lights. I was contemplating doing this and trying to use the 88 trim on the center...
