Paging all major league pricks. All the guys that know far too much to not be assholes about it. (I think IJ is one of the few who at least tries not to be an asshole)
Anyhow, simple question. At high speeds (3,000+ rpm) how much of a chance does the intake charge have to heat up when...
I was looking to get some fn01r-c's but they're discontinued :( I figured 17x9 +15 front and 17x10 +25 offset would fit fine, but the offsets are kinda funky for the rpf1's so I thought I'd ask and see what setups people are using... looks like some spacers will probably be needed, but I'm...
I really enjoy music by a lot of obscure artists. Lots of instrumental stuff. I thought I'd share the track that just came up on my mp3 player, as the artist is brilliant. The song really grabbed my attention, but caught me off guard since I'm very familiar with the artist but not the song...
feel like I'm getting paranoid here, but I'm reading that heavier PP's can cause crankwalk due to increased load on the thrust bearing on startup? I'm assuming an accusump would be a good precautionary measure here? :icon_neut just don't want this supra to take the route of most of the ones...
Alright, I'm seeking advice for myself and BryanDyer... seems we're both having similar (if not the same issue)
low throttle input hesitation, general unresponsiveness. (should note my tach is off quite a bit too) Any input as to what could possibly cause this is welcome.
both of us have...
I've been trying to get my gauges set right. my tach was off when I got the car (some asshole put crinkled white gauge faces in the car) but I can't remember what speeds you hit at 3krpm in each gear (r154 and 3.73) I'd really appreciate any help.
so w/ the top two pins back-probed you are supposed to be able to adjust the TPS to break continuity, correct? then w/ a feeler gauge (of proper size of course) you are supposed to adjust it back to obtain continuity? not so on mine. the continuity decreases or increases when I turn it, but...
so, I see that these will be an issue running stiff springs... does anyone make poly strut cushions, or should I just get aftermarket pillow ball mounts?
In light of JJ's statement (and lack of input) on the usage of ATF and PS Fluid in the power steering system "I wish that myth would die" I intend on killing the myth myself (if at all possible) since he will not.
I've done about as much reading as I can. Couldn't really find much...
so, I got this car from a friend of mine, he had the engine rebuilt forever ago, but never really drove the car that much (think a few hundred miles) anyhow, I took the valve covers off to check the torque on the head bolts, don't want a BHG... especially considering how strong this one is...
I havn't had too much time to tear the car down and check all of my connections/grounds... also still re-building my tool collection. But, I thought I'd see if anyone had any advice on what could be the cause. I plan on checking my TPS and ignition system first.
The car seems to hesitate a...
That moment when you say "what the hell am I doing?" yeah, that occurred. :biglaugh: I figured, hey if I use some rubber hose and flip the bottle upside down and squeeze it I'll be able to put it in my diff.
Well... as it turns out, that's a LOT easier said than done. :nono: I've managed...
grinding, popping, clacking, binding... I already made a thread, and people are saying it's my diff. but my diff seems to be fine. the fluid looked a lil old, but no particles or anything in it... also seemed to work just fine when I've tested it.
Does anyone know of anything in the...
I know some of you guys drive like total nut jobs ;) but refrain from ever saying word 1 about it, because the rest of the community either just doesn't get it, has no testes, or looks down on this type of driving. :biglaugh:
here are some prime examples. (I'm sure a lot of you have seen...
On a fairly new corolla... just curious what you guys think these things should be changed at... Obviously if you grind gears all day, the gearbox oil should probably be changed quite often. But how about coolant?
The dealer obviously says these should be "inspected" @ 60,000 miles, meaning...
engine stayed cold for waaaay too long, so long in fact it never got up to operating temp.
test#1 heater blowing hot air? not really
test#2 do I have coolant? yes
test#3 loose coolant temp sender connection? no
test#4 TBD I'll check and see if the car has a damn thermostat...
So does anyone know of a good adhesive remover for the plastic trim on the 89 or 90 supra? Here's the culprit :nono:
"Blitz Power Book" thingamabob WTH is a power book anyhow? lol
Which one? My car has TEMS (first mk3 out of 5 to have it) but after reading that it adjusts it's-self on the fly, that doesn't really sit well with me. I was going to go with the TEMS compatible tokicos, but now I'm leaning towards ditching the TEMS. Anyhow... let's hear some input.
