Really? I've never heard of those amounts for our cars. And I search alot of stiff everyday just to get as much knowledge as I can. Lol well from what I've read, people that shim the oil pump have the same pressure as me for everything. But idk about this drop in pressure under WOT.
Pulling...
So I obviously want to fix/solve the issue, but I'm just wondering for peace if mind.
Is it all that bad to rip it when the pressure drops? What does oil pressure go to on a stock non-shimmed oil pump under WOT? I can't suspect anything more than 20 psi, and it's not like there's no pressure...
Damn. It sucks trying to get my oil filter off!! Lol
So what supertech isn't good? I read that's one of the better oil filters....?
But I guess I'll try it. I'm wanting to change my oil to GC 0w-40 now anyways. I have about 2000 miles on my build so far... I'm just worried that something...
My mechanical oil guage has a slight leak. Pretty much just has a dab of oil sitting by the fitting. It wouldn't just be leaking out of there more when it builds pressure, thus causing a lower oil pressure reading would it?
I mean It goes to just about 40 psi on a cold start up, so I know it...
I have a mechanical one already in. I wouldn't trust any stock guages for anything! Lol
And I have a supertech oil filter in.
And ok I'll txt u today when im at work Keith.
Ya the guy who built the motor before me only put about 10k on it before I rebuilt it. And he bought a new factory Toyota oil pump for it, and I reused that. I shimmer the oil pump 4.6 mm. And idk how long it's been doin it to be honest. When I'm in WOT I'm looking at all the other stuff goin...
ok so i just noticed today that when i put the pedal down and go WOT my oil pressure will drop to about 15-20 psi. Idk why it would do that. Is it something to worry about?
I just rebuilt the motor about 2k miles ago. I got the engine already built, then rebuilt it. I was told that it was a...
Haha I see. You a packers fan?
And ya idk how the Boss is, but Ben still has to get me some of the interior pieces to the car, so I'll ask him about it when I see him. I believe he's got a 1jz though.
Lol I've been looking for a thread of what my car was before I got it!
But unfortunately I'm not 21 yet! Haha 4 more months!
But i just got the shell for 400 bucks! Lol I built this motor myself. I think Ben still had his Boss. I have a precision 6152 as listed in my mods list up there. :P...
Ok so I recently got on the dyno to see what I'm running. It was all good onthe dyno and right after, but when I came to my first stop sign my idle stuck at just under 2k. Then at another stop sign it would start to surge from about 1.2 k to 2k. Runs great still but just when I come to a stop...
