You should run a 7m maf in the v8 housing and adjust your AFRs with the adjuster screw.
my guess, you're going lean, knocking, and it's pulling timing.
thanks for the reminder i need to get the studs on my exhaust manifold fixed before i test fit my turbo on it. I also have the joy of blocking off a external waste gate flange because my new turbo has a IWG
I'd like to add i also see this problem when people re-use a rod that had previous knocked. they can get tweaked and are not always caught when re-bearing. but also i hope you measured clearances because if that wasn't done right i wouldn't speculate past that failure.
Is anything really that important?
I do agree about looking for a wiring fault, i know my wire shield started falling off last time i adjusted my timing.
I'm still not a fan of plastigauge I just a micrometer to measure my bearing clearances. IF it is rod knock and it is a fresh rebuild then the rebuild wan't done well enough.
Exhaust parts came in and 2 spare AN10 fittings i may use on the turbo.
I got a 3" vband assembly for my downpipe to cat back. I kinda want to cut off the stock flange on my greaddy SP and weld a vband on to the Sp exhaust. But if i want to keep my SP Original I'd have to make a short 3" 2...
