I had multiple issues, eventually had to punt:
The external amp failed. I was able to repair it by replacing the output stage ICs and capacitors that were all dried up.
The tape transport failed. I replaced the rubber belts as they had all stretched and gone brittle and it worked again.
The...
You will need a copper jumper wire for this. The usual paper clip won't work due to the high current of the fuel pump.
Jumper FP and +B. The red colors should be ignored.
Code 34 is excessive air flow. It may be unrelated if you recently hit fuel cut. I would start by checking for a disconnected intake hose in case one blew off.
For the 7MGTE fan clutch, after I rebuilt it it was locked on just as you described.
During the rebuild, I filled the clutch with the recommended 50mL of silicone oil, but because it is so thick I had a lot of trouble fully draining the old oil and measuring the correct amount of new oil. In...
^Agree. I would not base anything on wire colors. Trace the signals from ECU pin to pickup coil. Its easy enough to do with a dmm and back probing. Not only does blue fade to green, but there is no guarantee the internal CPS wire colors match any sort of standard over the years.
Of course you can, after all the cam just turns the CPS. Its an excellent diagnostic tool for this kind of problem since it eliminate all the noise and commotion of the starter and you can actually hear the injectors click and the spark snap. If you have a spare known good CPS you can leave the...
The injector has power on one side, and the other side is grounded by the ECU to turn on the injector. That means when you check the voltage of the disconnected injector plug you should see 12V on one side and the other side will be 0V (actually its really an open circuit).
However, things...
There is a maximum amount of energy you could get using 1 L of air and the correct amount of fuel, so there is an upper bound. There is no lower bound. With no fuel added you would get 0 Joules of energy out of 1 L of air.
