The GTE ecu requires the Karmen-vortex AFM and waste fire ignition and corresponding wiring harness of the GTE engine. If you have a GE with a distributor ignition and flapper style AFM then you will need the GE version of the ECU. Besides, I think the ignition timing in the GTE ecu would not...
Hmm, seems like we lost a bunch of recent posts in the server switch over. A quick update, I should have the CAD for the production board done this weekend. It is very close.
Before you do that place a shield between the fan and the afm. These afms are sensitive to turbulence and that setup you have is pretty near worst case. Also. For now you can unplug the tps. It will run ok without it and remove one more uncertainty for now.
The other thing I would check is the IDL signal, since it seemed to smooth out when you unplugged the TPS. Could be the trailing throttle fuel cut being acitvated because your IDL signal is not set correctly or the TPS is broken.
This is the symptom of a maladjusted TPS...
Has it ever run properly with the setup you have there? One thing I notice is the lack of a fan shroud right next to the AFM with an exposed filter which could be causing turbulence at the AFM. Try shielding the air filter from the fan with a piece of cardboard or sheet metal. Also make sure...
Yeah its true, this project has gone too slow. My day job became a big time suck plus family commitments put a dent in things for the last few years. With one kid now in college this may be a good time to see what can be done.
I do have parts on hand to make 25 boards which is a good thing...
The additives have negligible impact on heat transfer. Water has a specific heat of 1, and Ethylene glycol has a specific heat of 2.78. So the biggest impact on heat transfer is the ratio of water to glycol. More water is better, although corrosion becomes an issue if too diluted.
Obviously...
No, that is not right. A blown EGR vac modulator will cause a miss at light load, plus bad idle. Remove modulator and check that the high temp braided silicone hose connected to exhaust is okay. Also check that EGR valve is not stuck.
You can test EGR modulator with a piece of hose and your...
EPA estimate is 18/23 mpg. My mostly city driving averages about 18 mpg. I don't know how empty you ran the tank, but if it was bone dry its 18 gallons to fill which would be 320 miles on tank.
If you're on the throttle a lot in city driving then its going to be even worse than 18.
One...
12 or 13 would suggest a wiring problem or other issue with the CPS. It may be that the harness is damaged and engine movement is causing it to be intermittent. I would jiggle the wiring near the CPS at idle and see if you can get the engine to stall.
