Wear out fast? That would defeat the purpose of forged if it is on the losing end of entropy on the cycle. They contract when they cool and as such are noisy at start up.
If you need a fuel pump then you need a fuel pump. Using the new meter housing and 550s does not need additional tuning. Aside from the best pump gas you can get, which you should be doing anyway.
You don't need to change the ECU or anything like that. Yes, open the exhaust from the downpipe back. Leave the main cat in place. If you get a downpipe with an integrated elbow, then you do not need a separate high flow turbo elbow.
First is a turbo exhaust. This is the HKS Turbo Exhaust...
In the TCCS thread it is noted that the Lex (1UZFE) meter is actually 28% larger than the 7MGTE meter. Which is pretty close to the standard claim of 25%. That slows down the frequency from the airflow meter at the same volume, raising the fuel cut.
Did you try a Lex meter yet? With the stock CT-26, my opinion is that the car showed noticeable improvement all around. Which is what was reported a long time ago.
My bad.
