the series that light up green is the 'link' series. slightly less expensive, not as 'blingy' and i dont' know what the other differences are but there's your answer.
the only thing i did to the instrument cluster was the white over-lays. I don't think the white gauges are 'bling' at all. I think they look much nicer than black... its a clean thing, not a bling thing :)

We were bored at work today and the topic of gas came up... i started bitching about it till my buddy told me that it was projected to be 1.50 for regular this coming summer? has anyone heard about this?

i re-used the old pump, yes. I went from non turbo to turbo so i changed reservoirs and drained the old fluid.
I put new fluid in and started the engine with the front wheels off the ground.
and yes, I had the engine running :)
I jacked the front of the car up, let the engine warm up, and cranked the wheel lock-to-lock many times with the cap of the sp res.
the level in the res didn't change.... is that supposed to happen?

I actually got fairly lucky. The voltage at the LEDs stock is only ~2.4 volts. The blue and white LEDS have a foward voltage of ~3.5 so I'm suprised they actually turned on.
I bought the LEDs on eBay... 100 white and 100 blue for 1 dollar each set. Then 11 bucks shipping for...
Regardless of the cause the entire problem has completely cleared up... there's now as much smoke as you would expect out of a complete rebuild: None.
pretty scary to have your brand new engine smoking like that though :)
