The car is so close to being finished, we are just waiting on getting the windows reinstalled then I can bolt on the hatch, moldings and the custom wing, then the body will be assembled. The teaser pic was my idea, so you can throw the eggs at me not him :crazy1: and no the Lambo dorrs did not...
Ever scince I dod the 89+ steering wheel swap my horn hasnt worked, I even just swapped the 89+ signal stalks and everything....I just am to busy to take the time to fix it LOL, I can hear a relay clicking behind the dash when i push the horn button. Which wire is the horn wire?
I am not sure, I was just keeping my eyes on the road, it was pretty close to the rev limmit 6000+ rpms......whats the rev limmit on 7m's again?, I am so used to the 8000 rpm 1jz's. I may have the run on video, I'll check.
I did an estimated 180 mph or 280 kmh, I had the speedo needle pointing to the B in the BRAKE warning light.....using Poodles pic as a reference. Mods were 7M with a T04E 60 trim turbo, Lex/550's, 3.5" dp and exhaust. 275/35/18 tires and a 3.90 rear end.
We I finally made some decent passes at the track last night. I have just started to use drag radials which made me have to change my launching style. Here is some back ground I am running my 1jz at 18 psi on 94 pump gas, DBB T61 turbo, making about 420 whp.
My first run was bad, and I...
Another note about removing the rear seal, is that you will always be sucking in hot engine bay air when you turn on your vents, A/C etc... so the way to get around this is to just trim off the ends of the seal (about 6-10" on each side) and just leave the seal along the cabin inlets just behind...
No, you do not have to port or modify the BIC DDP in any way. Some people have opted to port the wastegate hole in the turbo housing, due to over boosting or boost creep, but this is is very rare and mostly on turbos with upgraded compressor wheels and upgraded intercooler and intake systems as...
That is incorrect, the wastegate does open fully (atleast with the BIC DDP). Infact the wastegate on the stock downpipe can only open up about 3/8", then the flapper arm hits the downpipe flange. I took this into consideration when I designed the BIC DDP, the flange is cut so there is enough...
I am 90% sure I am heading down. There should be a few of us Canadians driving down, and for you others that are complaining about the drive....its 20+ hours for us. I went in '04 and it was awsome.
This is why, these oem parts can be gound for the nearly same price as the stock replacement parts, just add a coupple hundred for the brackets. Some guys have some 300zx calipers sitting around, or rotors from a buddy or what ever. I found my full kit for like $600 shipped, cant beat that...
All you guys that are not fans of this brake upgrade need to drive a car equipped with these brakes. They are amazing!!!, my car had oem slotted Brembo rotors, KVR Carbon brake pads, and Motul 600 fluid......this was OK, until you try to stop twice from 100+ mph. Now I run the front Nightpager...
You can use the MSD DIS 6 box for this, it has a 2 step limiter and also multiple spark CD ignition which is a real bonus with out crappy stock coils. I was going to go this route, but I am just gonna go standalone ECU instead. BTW these msd boxes are only like $300-400.
BIC now offers solid mounts too, for both 86-88 and 89+. Poly trans mounts are now finnished, I just need to finalize pricing and post the pics and info on them.
Randy
Yes the transdap ones are like that, half of the hole is covered because its offset, if I remember corectly. You could take a die grinder and open it up more.
