1) Welcome to the forums, get some pictures up!
2) Click on the JZ link in my signature, it spells out all you need to know on getting a JZ in the car and contains a discussion thread that helps to add things to the main thread.
3) Save up your funds, they go away quickly when doing the swap...
It's definitely a 1JZ. Only way to get it is to buy one of few kits left or knowing someone outside of the states to get one. No need to bug him, that's the only two gaskets that will work, 1JZ/2JZ, and you can get any 2JZ in the states...1JZ on the other hand..;)
I would agree but local guy is using BIC ones and his Koyo doesn't fit with the blade setup that I am using on my car with the Koyo. I can't say the 1JZ/2JZ blocks are different other than height not length.
Who knows why some Koyo's fit and some done. :dunno:
ECU is behind the glovebox. Lower glovebox, remove rear black plastic, look up.
The engine harness plugs into the ECU. ECU stands for "Engine Control Unit," so it has to go in the harness. The engine harness has plugs that go to the body harness plugs which are located next to the ECU.
