Microtech vs Haltech, help me choose.

Well I got it installed and tuned and had about a week to drive it before driving 1800 miles to Vegas, I made it all the way down and back, and i also Dyned (423 whp at 17 psi) and raced. Not to bad for only a weeks driving on a new EMS. The Haltech ran great, I even taught my wife to tune...

    intercooler opinions

The Precision Intercoolers are great, they are what I use in my car and the intercooler kits I build. They use a Garrett high density core. This is what i mean about internal fins....which one will transfer more heat??

    intercooler opinions

The BIC downpipes come with every thing thats needed to bolt it up. You will reuse the stock steel upper Turbo/ Downpipe gasket. It bolts up just like stock with no modifications needed. Click on the link in my sig to order, or you can order through HPF too. Now about the Intercoolers, I have...

    The Drone thread

Drone is just a particular low frequency of the engine/ exhaust flow that causes the sound, similar to bass from a subwoofer. 7M's seem to drone more than JZ engines, i think its due to exhaust flow and piston stroke, as the 1jz particularly has a very short stroke (under square). Most round...

Brad, After your drive to Vegas/ Nevada last fall you should already have your answer.... your car got hot on every incline........one of the problems with your setup was that the fans were continuaously on, this is hard on the fans and wears them out prematurley. I ran electrics for a few...

A-1 Racing vs Suprasport Traction Arms

I have seen both, the A1 are aluminum, and seem really lightweight for the amount of force they need to hold up to, also the end bracket where it attaches to the knuckle was thin steel, I was not impressed at all. The SS ones are super beefy with I beam construction, they light have clearence...

    apexi safc1 help

You need to set it up as a 6 cyl, pressure sensor, with the TPS with the arrow up, and then calibrate the AFC TPS reading. It could be that your TPS is out of adjustment. If its stock with stock injectors, you shouldnt have to adjust much, maybe 5-10% under boost, the low throttyle wont need...

    Spark plug gap?

I always start with a .028 and go smaller from there if it breaks up under higher boost. I run a .022 gap on mine and it still breaks up past 18-19 psi. With small gap you will get a bit of a missfire at idle. JZ engine are notoriuos for weak ignitors and weak, cracked coils. Pretty much every...

Fan clutch measurements JZ engine please

I think in your case you will have to move the rad farther forward. I just put a 1jz into a 89 2wd truck and we had to cut the rad support and move the rad (custom 3 core AL rad) we ended up using a pusher electric fan. But for offroading I wouldnt trust an E fan.
