thanks . whats wierd is it only lasts for 3or 4 seconds . i figured if it was a clearance problem it would rattle all the time. but when i crank it the idle shoots up to 2k then 1.5 then slowly falls to around 1k . do you think its jumping to quickly in rpm for the oil to get to the head?

i had the same problem i had a large 4'' intercooler and it caused the temps to rise i need to find a engine undercover also.

hi jay it could be that you are floating the valves at that rpm have you checked your valve shim clearances?
