You need to go through a registered importer to get grey market vehicles imported into the US. There are a bunch of other associated tasks with this, so do some reasearch and call some importers. Also, check your state laws for grey market vehicles. In Maryland last time I checked they allow any...
I see! No its not that far into the cabin, its mounted where your feet would be, see the following:
Hmm... I just realized that is a different ECU than the one I have in my car... That’s definitely a SC, but that’s definitely not the same ECU...
Looks like you did a nice job on your swap harness. If the EFI main relay does not kick on then the ECU will not see any power. Pull the relay and test it. I had an 89 that wouldn't kick the EFI main relay turns out the ignition switch went bad, one of the terminals corroded and fell apart. That...
No extra grounds that I'm aware of. In the dash, is your Black-Orange wire from pin 16 on B-1 connected to the Black-Orange wire from pin 11 on IJ2? That wire comes from your ignition switch, when its tuned to the on position it tells the ECU to kick the EFI-Main relay on, without it the engine...
That engine is more common/popular in Japan and Austria from what I have seen. You may be able to do some internet searches to find info. If not, then what trans does it have? It might come down to pulling it apart, taking measurements and comparing them to other clutches on the market.
Got some more work done, painted the IACV, made a new gasket for it too. Cleaned up and painted the thermostat housing/ by-pass cross over, and I also drilled and tapped a spot for the water temp gauge.
So, I while looking for a spot for my water temp sending unit I peaked through a opening under the intake manifold. The mice had built up a substantial nest under the intake manifold, enough that I feared a fire if the engine ran for long. Since the only way to install the sending unit and...
I finished with the heater control valve assembly, I really like how it turned out. Along with the new rehostat I re-installed all the "ductwork" for the HVAC with new foam on all the sealing points. I also finished the power distribution for switched 12v+ in the cabin, I have 8ga wire running...
I attempted that first, but there was no bolt in way. Plus, I have a extra 8 or so inches of harness to deal with, since the 1UZ ECU is mounted on the floor of the SC....
Awesome, I have been dealing with my 1UZ ECU floating in the glove box since I first did the swap. I just got a AEM unit and with any luck I can replicate what you have done!
Looking at the trouble shooting specs on the MC one, "The 0.8~1.2 V reading is the nominal voltage (outputs at least this much voltage at all times)"
The Autometer one says it needs to see 2.0-16v. Just by those numbers I'm skeptical that it would work.
Gosh I love that pre-89 front end in white!!!!! Looks great, please do link us! I waited two years looking for the last bits to put my factory lip on just for it to be warpped.
Yea, next time I will do it that way!
So I got some parts in, and did some tinkering. The plan is to pull a single power wire through a relay into the cab. Then split that wire in a distribution block to the AMP for the woofer and to the extra gauges or any other accessories I add. I was...
I have heard a local Supra with the pacesetter header and catback combo, sounded like complete ass. It was NA.
I ran the old school 2.75" dia HKS exhaust on my 86.5 NA and my 87 when it still had the 6 banger in it, absolutly loved the ehxaust note, it was toned nicely and looked great!
