Its up to you. I say as long as it is 3 or 4 ply and silicone its fine. I think the stock hose is only 2 ply. So in that case you should be fine with 3 ply. Stock is rubber with ply. The new ones would be silicone with 3ply which is a 110xS better.
BTW I haven't gotten to the brackets yet...
I honestly do not recommend you use the rubber couplers from any auto parts store. You need to get a blue coupler that is 3 or 4 ply silicone. I know for a fact that those rubber couplers wont even hold up to 10psi. I don't know how much pressure our cooling system puts out but I know its more...
The top hard radiator pipe I just made for Spawntaker:
On the first attempt to make the top pipe I cut the flange off.
Well this time I just grinded the flange until the pipe came off. A lot cleaner cut.
