Yeah, I personally don't trust the butt connectors. I have previous soldered my Walbro installs without any problems. The gasoline will not melt the solder. Solder it and use marine grade heatshrink and you will be good to go.

That is not the resistor for the injectors.Those are relays, looks like for the AC/Fans. Resistor box is on the drivers side shock tower - It is silverish/aluminum in color rectangular box and has fins on it. it has one pigtail coming out with a Black and orange wire, red, yellow and black...

there is a black 89 MKIII avaialable for < $500 per the owner. Not a bad deal ....
