    Jimi's build update

Ok a few things I've been working on... 1. Got my new seats in this weekend, Corbeau GTS II seats. I tried mounting them with sliders, but that made them sit too high, my head was touching the roof :icon_conf . So I got them in the position I wanted and made brackets to mount them. The rear...

    Dipstick upgrade?

^^Thats the one, works great, I have no problems reading the level on the new one. I think I payed around $12-$15 for mine, it's well worth it. (as others already stated ;) )

    Dipstick upgrade?

Go to the dealer and buy a dipstick for the mkiii, it has been updated. I bought one a while back and it's a big improvement over the old one, I had even tried roughing the old one up to make it work better but it was still a pain, so I bought the new one.

    Custom fiberglass parts..

:werd: Plus one thing to think about, how much experience does he have making light weight structural parts? Decorations for parties and functional car parts are two vastly different worlds. Don't get me started on poorly made FG parts, most after market FG parts are shit, this is because...

    check out this gauge cluster

I don't think it would be too hard to make fit, you would just have to remove the vent ducting in the dash that feeds the center two vents.

    wieght reduction diehards..

It all depends on the maker of the FG bumper. Some actually weigh a lot, the stock skin is actually light weight, it is the inner support and metal brackets that are heavy. For example, I have 2 FG bumpers at the moment. One is the Max Evo, the other is the Shine-auto replica Spec-G Bumper...

    255 front fitment??

I'm running 255's on all 4 corners, 17x9 27mm offset, running 255 40 17. I rub the front fender lip on hard bumps, so rolling is needed with this offset.

Heat not as warm/hott after coolant change?

The heater core could have gotten clogged when you "flushed" it, or there is air in the system.

    Block heater?

I would think you could put it anywhere that it would grab, just use commonsense and keep it away from fuel lines, or anything that could be damaged from too much heat. I think if it is a sensor problem (sensor acting up below a certain temp) Then warming the coolant would help you more...

    '20 sec search'

This is not the fault of the ones with answers, this is the fault of the ones like the thread starter for not searching. We wouldn't have all those threads IF PEOPLE WOULD SEARCH, now would we?

    Block heater?

My bimmer was hard to start in the cold last year, so this year before the winter hit I installed an oil pan mounted warmer. Similar to a heating pad that sticks to the oil pan, from testing this with my temp probe the oil temp would go from 35*F to 110+*F in about 2 hours, this will all depend...
