This is an extremly broad question! All relative to your power goals.
If you going for say around 300-400 horses, and want a more forgiving head gasket, get a cometic. Even though cometics are known to hold much much more!

Very nice Matt, i like the GTE intake manifold on the NA. You dont have ACIS though right? And i heard the NA flows betterr. Its definatly more clean looking!

Haha, i was thinking about tackling this a while ago, but i jsut pulled the head and resurfaced with a new headgasket.
From what i heard, its a little annoying doing w/ the head on. But if you jsut put the engine back together (head on) i wouldn't wanna take it off either!

So your gonna do all that work and spend all that money decking the block and head, and run a stock headgasket!
Save up another 50 or so dollars and run a cometic! OR a few more bucks and get an HKS.
GTE engine's are usually around 1200 after shippign and everything. You still buying an engine in an "unknown" condition. If you have around 1000, you can easily change the head gasket to a cometic and run ARP headstuds. ANd still have enoug hfor the gte electronics and everything.
