    I hate surpas!

Yep, reading your post, why are you buying new motor mounts for an 88? (Ours are the superior design, they don't rip out like the 89+ round ones do.) My engine mounts with 170+ thousand miles are them are like new. (Yes the brackets are powder coated now, but hey, the rubber part inside is still...

    ebay manifold help

Or you could sell me the Ebay manifold since I already have the filter relocated.. :) (And buy a new design that allows for the stock filter mount.) If you want to sell it, PM me. (I'm looking for a great deal, and since you got it free, I guarentee you will make money by selling it to...

    Bought an AR5 Trans

Well, if you look at the gears, the 5th gear is just slightly different on the Taco truck, than the Supra. It would lower the engine RPM slightly, and possibly give you better cruise fuel economy, but the cost of the gears v/s the cost of the gas your going to save was minimal in the final...

    hpf 4inch installed.

I'm thinking that muffler would make a good resonator, and then add a nice Ti can on the back from Magnaflow. (Or whatever can you like, the Ti ones intrest me since they are light, and don't rust.) Tuck that Borla bullet style up so it has good ground clerance just after where the stock cat...

suprise supreses and the results are in

I would say #2 is not in good shape based on it being much lower than the rest, and the excessive oil on #6 might be excessive oil getting past the rings. (Actually raising the compression test, but under normal conditions, it's burning that oil as you noted.) A leak down test would likely...

Vibration Problems - Driving me nuts

You guys, the rotor was dragging BEFORE I even drove them. (Just installed the rotor, caliper and pads, and then the wheel, and rotated the wheel, and noticed that it was smooth and free on one side, but on the other would catch as it went around.) I then pulled the wheel, and re-tourqed the...

What the crap are these scratches

My guess is buttons made from aluminum or some other soft metal. Those don't appear to be key scratches IMHO. (Most key'd cars have one long deep scratch where the perp walked down the side of the vehicle and tried to look calm while scratching the hell out of the car. They generally don't make...

    1st dyno w/ 7m installed

Ok, new plugs, but what is the gap set at? (IF you did not gap them, they are all wrong out of the box. Pre-gapped is a joke.) Set the plug gap to .28 and it will likely cure your high end miss. (Even at part throttle, or just barely into the boost.)

    numbers@18lbs

I would think with a turbo that large, and the intercooler size, C16 at 18psi was not needed. Just my opinion however. (It's safer, but your going to fry your O2 sensors with the lead.) What boost level do you run on pump gas?

    anyone used these 550cc injectors?

That is a great deal. Injectors and clips for just over 300? Nice. When you put your injectors into the motor, look at the body of each, and note that some flow slightly more than others. Just because I'm picky, I put the higher flowing ones in #1 and #6 and then the lower flowing ones in...

Vibration Problems - Driving me nuts

I agree the rotors are the culprit in this problem. They are Wilwood rotors, and I need to talk to Precision brakes to see if they will warrenty them. (I have about 1500miles on them now, and they are not getting any better.) Always use a tourqe wrench on the lug nuts. Every time. :) but...

    Fixed my A/C!!! w00t!!1!!11

If your going to run R134 in your R12 based system, you have to stay with that R134 from that point forward. (You can't go back.) Also you should replace the Reciever/dryer (the can with the sight glass) as it's a filter and dessicant container, and holds/retains some oil and traps water in...

Well, I found the limit for a stock head gasket.

Sirkus, the accepted "scale" for the CT is about 11rwhp per extra psi of boost pressure. IE: going from 5psi to 10psi adds about 55rwhp to the car. The tourqe gains are more IIRC, but I don't have a number for that. Perhaps 13 to 15lbs ft per psi? Again, no hard data.) With my bolt on T4...

    1st dyno w/ 7m installed

Misses only on the top end? My guess is your plugs or wires. (If they are new wires, what are your plugs gapped at?) .28 is the best setting for any plug at higher boost I've found on the 7M engine. (I know that "stock" is wider, but wider causes misfires.) Try the .28 gap. It has...

    Group A's group a rebuild

Hmm, more flow at idle speeds with the electric pump might just do it, and you remove the drag on the motor at high speeds when you do not really need 6500rpm of drive speed on the water pump. Nice idea. Is the pump temp based, or are there other parameters like engine rpm or boost levels? If...

    Custom FFI update w/ pictures!

Just curious, but does anyone have dyno data on the tourqe gains or losses using the longer FFIM that is two part v/s a short runner design like this one? (And the top end power gains from the shorter runners?) Also, looking at this again, would it be possible to make the throttle body...

    Group A's group a rebuild

I think with cores that size, the front bumper/reinforcement bar is not needed for crash protection. The huge size of the core is an excellent impact absorber, and will crush and slow the car down pretty good I'd think. (Especially if you use the stock frame horn mounting points like the old...

Vibration Problems - Driving me nuts

I'm dealing with the same problem. New brakes, and it vibrates under braking. Only thing I can think of is a warped rotor. I noticed when I installed the brakes that the rotor dragged in places as it was turned. 5 thousands runout should not be a huge problem, but what was the runout of your...

    Overheating Nightmare !!

I think the comment about coolant being forced out of the overflow bottle is the cinch here. No leaks in the cyc? No white smoke (Steam) all the time? No external leaks? Is your oil foamy or does it look like chocolate milk? (This indicates coolant in the oil, and you have an internal...
