Time for the shifter mod. I found locally a used broken tripod linkage shifter to play with , since I didn't want to cut the new one.
It is exactly what I needed since I am going to cut it anyway :biglaugh:
I cut the upper brace 10.3 cm, and I welded both aluminum pieces back together
On the...
Well here is the trans the day I recieved it... it's mated to a 2jz engine that will go to another guy, unfortunately I can't keep it for spare :naughty:
It's dirty and a clean up would help :icon_bigg
And because I want to prevent people saying ''if you are not hitting over 1000whp it's useless and overkill''....
I am already 720hp (6766) to the wheels, and now I have a new setup under the hood good for 1100-1200whp.
Picture is from a JAP fest where professional photography took...
Thank you sir... I know it won't be cheap but I do also know cheap doesn't mate with fast and reliable.
The V160 was my only choice to replace my oem stock R154 which it is still fine after 2 years of 700+whp,
and I still love that transmission. Designed in the mid 80"s and still rocking...
T56 is a good alternative...but I wanted to stay with Toyota family.
The V160 is already proven in the big HP world..and Toyota dealer is 10 minutes from my place and I get a nice discount!
Last, I am located in Europe ,Greece...so the T56 is not available here and it's supporting parts. I got...
Hello everybody!
It's been a while since I have posted some of my upgrades.
Anyway, I was reading threads about swapping the V160 6 speed in the mk3 MA70 Supra running a JZ engine
of course, and the information about it is quite poor , and no one HAS DONE IT PROPERLY unfortunately. I am...
Take the car to a good car A/C service shop to properly clean the A/C system, make the proper vacuum and check for leaks.
Then if all is ok with no leaks, they should fill the system with 650 grams of old R12 or new R134a refrigerant which is what Toyota indicates for the mk3 Supra.
Then turn...
I would do the same for the 19' rims if I go the 19 inch rim route, and I would choose the B Rim 19' option :
B Rims 19' - Size:
Front : 19×8.5 Offset +35 42mm lip
Rear : 19×9.5 Offset +38 55mm lip
and put the 9.5' rim in front and relip the 8.5' lip with a +2' inch new burrel lip to make it...
question about wheel fitment..
I want to get some 18's or 19's rims. I am thinking 19's because my mk3 is body kitted and 18's kind of look small,
otherwise I would be targeting ONLY 18's since I can get more tire with them and help traction.
I will run Tein coilovers soon too...and have...
I have two Aeromotives 340 stealth pumps on a modified stock hanger working parallel.
Tight fit, but it is the best way you can go as fuel feed for high HP. Those two pumps can feed a Supra engine
up to 1400 HP with the proper fuel lines, FPR, fuel rail and injectors. They are the most powerful...
723 whp here, and I use the stock drivetrain since it's production in 1990 MA70 turbo targa model.I just use an ACT HD clutch with a 6 pack disk.
Everything is ok and looks good. I only check and make oil changes with the best and proper brand.
But I never used slicks and never went to the track...
I get some blue smoke while revving the engine during neutral/idling.
I am like WTF... I changed the valve stem seals 2 years ago.
I got a new IC (clean unit inside/free of oil contamination) , like 2K miles old...and my 6766 Precision turbo has only about 12k
miles, and 3 dyno pulls...
Sorry..for the late response.
I sold a 300x600x650 intercooler. I have now a 300x600x125. It's a very tight fit,realy tight.
I had to make custom mounts, and modify the hood mount bar that the horns are located on it.
Also modified the tow hook a little. I got 3" IC pipping all around.
I still think that with the correct and proper parts like clutch kit, trans.shifter, trans./engine mountings, trans. oil, gear changes and operation
without misusing......and a stock and healthy R154 could hold around 1000 HP on the street (no strip or drag racing) and highway!
And this is...
