That's interesting (the bit about the belt flipping over and shredding). I lost mine one night, and didn't realize it until my back end was floating around and it was 4-5x harder to keep it in my lane lol
Something you gotta watch out for without that heat shield... Sometimes you'll get discoloration over the turbo. I hope you put that glove box back in! lol
Yeah that's BWB.
That is exactly what I want, no complicated picture BS. MAYBE try one of the Supra fonts for the text, but if you sold exactly that I'd be happy.
The very first one would have been bad if I hadn't been so happy (day after I got the car). Replacing the valve cover gaskets while it was 3* and snowing was pretty shitty. Other than that not really, I don't mind working on the Supra.
Short: Get it running reliably, 550s and more boost, maybe some methanol.
Intermediate: Paint, wheels, suspension.
Long: Either a 1UZ-FTE swap or a supercharged UR motor.
Ultimate goal is a big (pump gas) power cruiser with all the goodies.
Your dad should have room up front for the turbo. You could piece together your own set up for a rear mount for your truck, just like you can for any other turbo set up...
I don't think you guys are understanding this. There is no power advantage to doing this. It is ONLY done because they have almost no room under the hood. It would blow ASS on an NA, because they are small displacement medium compression motors.
Deadcell's idea could be pretty neat though...
Some people get stuck with crappy, unreliable, short lasting motors (*cough*RX7*cough*), and some people really like a certain body style but don't know anything about the motor, or don't want to spend a small fortune building an import motor when they have a built SBC laying around.
Called it.
BTW, some company makes plates to adapt a V160 to a UZ. If you grab a 1J bellhousing you could use the pair with an R154 for a manual 400/430.
Anyone know anything about the UR motors? I want one for my Supra! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_UR_engine
