I dont know where it says i ran 10.5 slicks, but i always used 26x10.5 Et streets on both 15 and 16" rims...I tried 28" x 10.5s on the 15x8 (5.5)bs draglited but they rubbed bad on squat, so i had to go back to 26s.
Back when i used that setup it was stock with a cut coil. Now i fabbed a straight axle setup, so i can use whatever size tire i want :P :D
As ive stated in the past, 28" tires will rub with that wheel when the car squats. 26" tires are your best bet, and keep in mind that slicks and ET...
15x8 w/ 5.5" bs and a 26x10.5 ET street or hoosier QTP.
up front 15x4" with a 3/8" spacer and a 26x7.5" MT sportsman front (if you expect it to have some street time), or a 25 or 26" Moroso frontrunner.
Pretty much exactly what you gotta do if you want to do a box. Looks well done and above all, is the safe way to do it. You could also weld the sparetirewell with flat steel and do straps out of 1x1 steel, almost like a fuel cell "cage" and tie it into the rear "framerails". There are a few ways...
Since the Supra is a "hatchback" with no rear firewall, the only way to legally do it (for racign anyways) is to mount it UNDER the floor, with an access door (kinda like this one...

Had a few piston-to-valve clearance issues....so ill get a couple new valves and have another try at it.....Cars not goign to vegas, but i sure am :) If my computer wasnt broke, id post a coupel pics of the car in paint...I'll keep everyone updated....
I have it on my computer, but it is broken, and have no real way to upload since im on 56k. Someone on this forum may have it though....More pics of the 87 in my thread in the build-up forum.
:wavey:
Im gonna have to beg to differ on this one... it took a 640whp camaro(similar in weight to the mkiv) to barely beat my stock 750 (well, piped lowered and stretched at that time) from a roll. Unless its a 500whp miata, i dont see 500whp trapping 133....
I should be dynoing on friday/saturday....updates forthcoming....i would be posting more pics, but my computer is brokededed so im assed out and have to use the one at work....
Im gonna wait until the month when Duane enters.....that way i can beat him on the dyno, the dragstrip and in teh internets!
*Damn Duane, ive been busting your balls alot lately.....but someones got to.... right?!*
Its ok....
you can love me like that.....
:D
really!
and you can tell everyone what it costs to get maybe 750whp.... ;):)
:biglaugh:
*dont beat me up Duane....lol*
