i understand the codes. m=7m jz= jz. what i am asking and have been asking is how can i tell the difference between a soarer 1j and supra 1j. what about the mounts is different?
thanks
i did mine by dropping the sub frame a few inches and lifting the engine a few inches. only took a weekend to do the actual job. and you can inspect the crank in the car, just look for scratches on the surface, and use some plastigauge and a micrometer to check your clearances. if the clearances...
sorry, i think i get what your saying, but could you be a little more specific with what "they" are, (they = soarer or supra) and do you mean the fpr is mounted on the mount on the soarer or the supra?
thanks and sorry for the confusion
does anyone know what the actual differences are between motor brackets on a soarer 1j and a supra 1j? like how can i tell the difference by just looking at the engine?
does anyone have a link to somewhere that i can buy the display for the climate control in red? i just finished changing every interior light to red, so everything matches, even my escort radar....except the damn temp readout
i have had nothing but trouble with mine since i bought it. but i still love it. its everything i want in a car. bought it for 7k, and by the time i have my 1jz all done and running, ill probably be up to about 11-12k. but i just couldnt sell if even if i wanted.
i see, well thanks for the info. guess i still gotta find myself a jza70 harness...i already have the ecu. but theres a real shortage of harnesses out there.
i have no problem doing the wiring myself. unfortunately, i cant afford dr tweaks services. i am looking for the most cost efficient and quickest way to get my car back on the road. and i have been looking for a jza70 harness for about a month and a half now. there seems to be a much more...
are there any downfalls to running a 2j ecu and harness, because its looking like thats going to be the quickest way to get my car back on the road. and it being my every day driver, i need it to be well driving. plus i wouldnt have to extend it right? and does it have to be a 5 speed mkiv or...
also, its doubtful, but is i figured id ask..is it possible for a 2jz harness to run a 1jz off of a 1jz ecu? if so, that would probably mean you wouldnt need to lengthen it. right?
well i dealt with the company, and they are paying for shipping both ways to fix the problem. r&t motors, theyre helpful guys, when you can get a hold of either of them...which is only about 10% of the time...but none the less, good helpful guys
sounds like thats what im gonna be doing (getting a new engine), and im not gonna disclose the company until they either work with me, or screw me, because i know mistakes happen, and id rather not start tearing apart a company if theyre gonna do the right thing
starting off, i just read just about every thread that turned up in search about chaser 1jz's, because the company i bought my 1jz from sent me the wrong engine, and im considering my options.
i understand what i need to do about the oilpan/sump.
do i need a chaser ecu? or will my supra ecu...
i was running a catless 3" turbo back, with a bosch 110 bypass valve and only once did i get a flame. but i did get some pretty nice backfires, and i could easily set off car alarms when i didnt have my silencer in. but you pay a price too...like getting pulled over 4 times in 5 days just for...
