Subaru's and DSMs have Front Wheel Drive type transmissions so they are inherently weaker than the rwd transmissions due to the space limitations. I have seen pictures of Subaru's gears that have been completely stripped. I have never seen a picture like that of the R154. You could get a mkIV...

I agree about the Bomex, they are conservative but still more aggressive tan stock. In fact, the entire Bomex kit is very nice and not flashy at all.

KAAZ makes great LSDs. They are pricey though. They are noisy because they are aggressive. They can flip the clutch plates over to allow more slipping but then they are only slightly more aggressive than stock and what is the point of that? Are you going to be road racing or drifting on this...

Keep checking ebay and pay the JDM markup that its going to cost you if you really want them.

A new one if $570.00 so getting that is not really an option. I have heard that the LS400 AFM electronics are the same as ours so that opens up other options of getting new electronics from junkyards. Can anyone confirm this?

you could always get new OEM rod bolts and use those. They are cheaper than ARP is you are on a budget and they are fairly cheap to have installed by a machine shop. New toyota bolts should be fine for most people (as in, not high horsepower).
