Oh perfect :icon_cry: I wish I had seen this thread before spending $200 on this very BOV, what research I had done... obviously not enough... thought it to be a great idea not having any surge of course... but yeah guess being held open sure doesn't seem like a great idea and if you filter it...

    Another Ebay Item 3" Exhaust??

I know all the pros and cons of ebay... I have been buying and selling on ebay for 10 years, there are good, bad, cheap, quality etc... so I came upon this below, as I was contemplating building an exhaust from scratch, using non-polished stainless, as I did not want to spend $500 on an exhaust...

    bypassing the EGR

Not to hijack, but a continuation on the same subject but a bit deeper - I have read numerous threads on the EGR / no EGR dispute along with this one, my question is - the concern with running lean on mid rpm, higher load situations, can this not be alleviated through tuning, if you are...

    Which spark plug to use?

Hey grimreaper - I wish only drove 6k a year... more like every 8 weeks... anyway what boost are you running with those plugs gapped @ .028/.029, just curious since that is working for you, if mods and boost are similar to my plans. Thanks

    Which spark plug to use?

So curious why are you running them at a closer gap, would not the larger gap create a greater spark? yet the closer would be less resistance... just curious as to your thoughts behind it. I am going to be running the same plugs, will be installing as soon as I get my MSD wires in later this week

550 upgrade, anything else need done?

gaboonviper85 listed the basic list of mods on his post above... There are some good articles on here in regards to basic mods, but you have to be willing to spend several hours reading and learning all your options, how much power you want to produce, how much money it will cost and the order...

CPS won"t go in place @ TDC post with pics

Yep sounds like the path I ended up going down and of course when I get the other 1001 things done and ready to run... I will get it timed with a light (and yes caught the bold note on that timing post about the Diag Block Jumper)... Thanks again IJ and other posters for your insight, always...

CPS won"t go in place @ TDC post with pics

Yes thanks IJ, that is how I was installing it, which is per the TRSM, it notes something to the point of lining up the pin hole with the notch on the shaft (pic #3 above, bad angle I guess) but the notch is right below the pin hole before installing, that puts the tip just a little CCW but once...

CPS won"t go in place @ TDC post with pics

Thank you for the info, that is the exact post I was using, but it states that once it is installed that I can spin the housing so that it lines up, but what I was saying is that when I make them line up after installed, the bolt hole is partially covered... Earlier today I was installing with...

CPS won"t go in place @ TDC post with pics

I have read a few threads about the same issue, had already tried everything listed, but I could not find a thread with a resolution... I have followed the TRSM for installing the CPS, see pics below, verified #1 piston is at the top and all marks line up to TDC, but when I install the CPS...

    HKS vs. Greddy headgasket

I should also add, that I absolutely positively concur with the other posters that are saying focus on the prep... like throwing cleans clothes on a stinky body... just wasting time and money if you don't have the block and the head prep'd correctly, meaning by machinist and one that gets your...

    HKS vs. Greddy headgasket

I personally went with the Greddy, as with the thickness and bore I needed, cometic was about the same price but would have had to wait for them to make it, I found a Greddy from Driftmotion that I got right away. Unless you are planing to boost more than 25psi, imho the hks stopper is not...
