Yeah sorry, some family from a couple hrs north of Seattle called Friday afternoon and said they were coming through for the night... so I did not make it... Hopefully the next one... I ain't afraid of a lil rain... we do live in the NW...
?? 0 @ idle, should be -17 to 22 in hg... OH wait you are still just using stock gauge, is that correct? Still I do not think it should read zero at idle... Have you checked vacuum with a tester gauge both at the boost gauge sensor and at the plenum? Do you have any kind of boost controller...
When I bought mine it was missing the top brace... 3 studs on EM were stripped... IMO for longevity for sure use them. I am not sure which one you are missing, but I could not find the top one, so I just built one from, IIRC 1/8 stock 1" in width. Even though the CT26 is not that heavy, you are...
HHmm Did not know Ebay manufactured parts... For some reason I thought they were just an avenue for people to list items that they had for sale, in either an auction format or a simple for sale format... Weird and all this time they were also a manufacture of cheap sh*t that they get unwary...
I actually pulled it that way, but put them back in together, I am certain when I do it the next time I will pull them together as well... just my preference is all... You are right though, those bolts with the right tools are easier than they look, but those bolts are not why I would not split...
^^ I 3rd that opinion... There is not a whole lot to disconnect the tranny from the car, so not only is it easier to pull them together (though certainly not impossible - I had to pull my tranny after build and those bolts are difficult but by far not the worst) but also good time to exam the...
Sometimes that is true... again understanding a business structure, someone can also sell items of the up-most quality and sell them cheaper, as if they are selling from their house, they do not have the same overhead cost as someone with a warehouse and a shop...
Also some of the intention of...
Two things:
One is that there is a difference between "Made in China" and Engineered elsewhere and manufactured in China... So there has to be much more than - Well it is Ebay, therefore must be Made in China... Do your research, look at feedback, contact seller, ask them questions about the...
I checked this a little closer on the road yesterday... for sure much of the vibration goes away during acceleration, little difference between decel and cruise though... again more of a high freq vibration, I tell the most by looking in my rear view mirror and see everything looking like I have...
^^ Better safe than sorry :-)
So I spoke to the shop, I will take it in one more time, with information as to the actual rpms of the shaft... if their machine still says it is balanced at those rpms then they said they could do the tube replacement for $160, to rid it of the rubber...
There is no obvious difference between on/off throttle, almost seems the worst when you settle into a speed and throttle setting (cruise)... Less noticable to me during hard acceleration, but not sure if that is just because there is some much else happening at the same time or if it really...
Yeah I was wondering about that myself, which is why I was debating getting rid of it and going to one-piece, but I see there are multiple concerns there also... I am thinking the rubber is 23 years old, it is probably not pliable and flexible as when it was new... Poddles - do you have thoughts...
They sound and feel clean when spinning on jackstands... also no play any direction on rear or front... was just aligned a couple of weeks ago, so should be no issues with excessive play anywhere...
Thanks IJ, though I did check that, my wording was a little vague, but that is what I was referring to... I did that after reading the sticky in the transmission and drive-line section...
Maybe they just can't get balanced??? Though they come recommended by many, been in business for 30+...
Um No - OP stated that the noise stops when he puts in the clutch... throw-out bearing only carries a load when you disengage the clutch (push in pedal)
I’m feelin those “bad” vibrations…
Here is the scoop and this is what has already been done:
Current – High Frequency vibration at about 62-68, goes away to some degree around 70, comes back at about 75 or so and then as you near 80, start to also pick up this oscillating low freq...
RA - Roughness Average
The idea begins with RMS, which is Root Mean Square - an average of peaks and valleys of the machined surface...
The lower the number the smoother the surface... most MHG manufactures want an RA of 30-35 or less... When my block and head were done, they were done to a RA...
