I doesn't HAVE to.. But it will be better off to get that gasket because If junk gets in there and you pull your plugs it is a chance of garbage getting into the cylinder.. Most times on our cars if you haven't replaced the cam tower seals they will start leaking in there..

I T'd my guage a little before the sending unit and mounted the guage right infront of the stock guage. I spliced mine into the light that mounts on top of the ashtray and it dims with the stock guages.. If you need any pics I can shoot you some.. Good luck!!

Ok... I haven't dropped the tank and have no clue to what the bracket looks like. Does anyone have a pic of what the stock setup looks like from under the pump. I guess to use the gss340 I would have to cut the bracket for the pickup.. Not sure if the mod is worth 60 bucks savings???
