Sounds like a plan. Wish I had something to drive while I do mine lol I finished doing everything to the motor and she's ready to drop in. With a shimmed oil pump and the piece above the oil filter... lol BUT It decided to rain today. And I still have to take out the broken heater union bolt...
C'mon now... don't bust my chops too hard.. :biglaugh:
I plan on grabbing them while I'm at the store just to avoid trouble. Putting a motor together in 29 degree weather at night sucks... BUT it saves me hours of work tomorrow. :naughty:
Lol I changed my mind and decided that since the oil pump I have was checked for clearance by the previous owner and is in great condition, I am going to just leave it. Why mess with it if it works? Especially since I will go with the full flow system in a month or two anyways.
Kai, sorry...
Perfect, thank you guys! I figured the thread was different so I was planning on using an adapter. Right now though, I am using all stock sensors, just new sending units. I will upgrade once I have the spare $$$, trying to get an apartment here in a few.
Oh I plan on going that route jdub, I just can't do it right this moment due to budget and time constraints.
I plan on NOT driving the car with the EGR, but I may have no choice if I can't find one before next weekend that is within my budget.
As for the sensors, I am putting in new ecu temp...
Well I knew it would come in handy to someone! lol I saw those gauges and thought of my spare 87 turbo dash. Now my na chassis will be complete! lol Zombie Thread Revival FTW
I know this is an old thread, but I found the info to be a great idea. For others searching, I found these! Much Shorter in length.

Dammit... I guess I can put on the cooler in the back of the head and then just block off the port on the intake manifold until I have the necessary parts. So far, this is shaping up to be a great build!
Oh I wouldn't go larger, I would go stock just for safety on keeping the oil cool. BUT I think I am going to upgrade the cooler circuit to what the stickies suggest. Until then, I will run a line from the outlet up top straight to the pan. Ill just drive gently to keep the temps down. Then...
Also, until I get my oil cooler hooked up, is it possible to block off the oil cooler pipe near the filter? I am asking merely because it may take another week to get my cooler, and I will not be driving, or at least not driving hard until after the break-in period. Basically, bypassing the oil...
Ok, about to put in my freshly built 7m. I am looking for information, but I can't find it anywhere, even after searching for 2 hours. :naughty:
-Does the 87 7mgte M/T Ecu read the oil psi sensor in the block, or is this strictly for the dash gauge? I would like to use an aftermarket gauge to...
This is why I bought brand new oil squirter bolts and cleaned out the nozzles really well.
I think I'm going to shim the Oil pump while the motor is still out of the car....
If its such a big deal, then convert it yourself ; p
To those who are contributing, this is a great help since I am putting my freshly built motor in this weekend. I am paranoid about oil psi and bhg's lol
Well it's just like the old GReddy system I had. HUGE muffler and tip, but the most quiet one I've EVER had on any car I've ever owned. I think the muffler was close to the size of the gas tank lmao :p
He may very well enjoy it. It seemed so in the video. But I do agree it is a bad idea to allow the child to get that beefy that young... regardless of the fact that this kid reminds me of Chuck Norris when he was young. Only minus the beard.

Damn... this kid could be ninja material! :biglaugh: 2:54-2:57 I was definitely intimidated. lol
I also searched to make sure...
