Yes, and I have done the same and had nothing but clear clean fuel come out of the filter. If your gas is looking like that you are getting rust or other shit in your fuel tank.

out of the 3 possible engine choices 7m, 1jz, and 2jz, the 2jz is the superior engine choice. However, i just rebuilt my 7m to save a little coin as I would rather have the 2j inside of a mk4.

hmm I would disagree with this. i would want 12:1 or lower under boost, ideally around 11.5:1. My car is in the 10:1 to 10.8:1 range when at stock boost or turned up to 17 psi. This was both on the Stock turbo and currently with the CT2657.

based on the PWR and Mishi photos and the lack of issues with PWR radiators I am guessing this is a car specific problem and not a fault of the radiator. Just my $.02

Sorry for the delay but I have about .6" of clearance to the fan shroud from what I can best determine is the fans closest point.

Well since Motor mounts are a potential issue/cause of the problem, I will post up that my 92 has 98 mk4 mounts on it that are only a year old. The car has seen a few track days since the rad install along with a boat load of hard street driving without issue. Tomorrow I will measure my fan...

FWIW, I have checked both my fan and shroud for you and neither show any signs of any damage. The fan clutch operates normally. This is on a 7M

I have no problems with my Mishi, shroud and stock fan installed with it.
