My car with stock electronics was always mid to low 10 afr's from stock boost all the way to 17/18 lbs. That is from stock (no upgrades) all the way to where the car is now, stock AFR's are pig rich with these cars. ---------- Post added at 10:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:12 PM...

You got coolant on your foot while driving and a hose in the engine bay was the culprit? No, its called a heater core or your story does not add up. Coolant can only get inside the car by the heater core. EDIT - Not trying to be an ass with this, i think it might sound that way though. Hope...

This is why you should change your Fuel Filter

Yes, and I have done the same and had nothing but clear clean fuel come out of the filter. If your gas is looking like that you are getting rust or other shit in your fuel tank.

    1jz or 2jz?

out of the 3 possible engine choices 7m, 1jz, and 2jz, the 2jz is the superior engine choice. However, i just rebuilt my 7m to save a little coin as I would rather have the 2j inside of a mk4.

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah, it needs some loving in the wheel wells and really needs a repaint/dent repair to be perfect. That should be happening in the next few years, but first Im adding a MK4 to the garage. You will have to let me know when you are bringing your car out as I actually...

So what ever came of this? It seems to have cooled off quickly. Just did another autocross in my car with no issues. My only Mishi fitment complaint is the poor fan shroud fitment.

Curious, what AFR's do stock 7mgte's run at 7psi?

hmm I would disagree with this. i would want 12:1 or lower under boost, ideally around 11.5:1. My car is in the 10:1 to 10.8:1 range when at stock boost or turned up to 17 psi. This was both on the Stock turbo and currently with the CT2657.

    57 trim ct-26 Dyno

Hmm, I had always thought mid 11's were what you wanted for a good safe tune for MOST boosted applications. Anyways, that is good to know...

    57 trim ct-26 Dyno

My 57 Trim runs pretty rich with the AFPR at ~30 psi at idle vac line of, it is in the low 10's AFR all the way out to redline even at ~16 pounds of boost. The car is running the stock ECU, DM CT2657, Lex/550/mk4 pump, Apex intake, Cooleze hardpipes, DDP into 3.5" straight pipe, and an Apexi...

based on the PWR and Mishi photos and the lack of issues with PWR radiators I am guessing this is a car specific problem and not a fault of the radiator. Just my $.02

Sorry for the delay but I have about .6" of clearance to the fan shroud from what I can best determine is the fans closest point.

Well since Motor mounts are a potential issue/cause of the problem, I will post up that my 92 has 98 mk4 mounts on it that are only a year old. The car has seen a few track days since the rad install along with a boat load of hard street driving without issue. Tomorrow I will measure my fan...

FWIW, I have checked both my fan and shroud for you and neither show any signs of any damage. The fan clutch operates normally. This is on a 7M

3 Mishi Radiators in a year, all failed the same way; fan blade impact (anyone else?)

I have no problems with my Mishi, shroud and stock fan installed with it.
