    opinions please... is this real?

A better link to the video would help. Something that warns folks it's 75+ minutes!

Best of luck to anyone in Japan...

Cripes... the tsunami just made it across the ocean. I hear there's damage in California and Oregon, haven't heard of anything local to me yet. Just imagine the scale required to cause problems on the other side of an ocean!

Off the interstate doesn't bother me, that's why I own a GPS.

    Harmonic Balance Bolt BROKE!!!

I didn't have it to begin with... that was Duane's car, and the tool came from a friend of his that works in a machine shop. I suspect that borrowing it for a weekend is significantly easier than shipping it internationally!

    Harmonic Balance Bolt BROKE!!!

Yes, we've seen this before. It's no fun getting that out without pulling the crank, but it can be done. Problem is, that bolt is hardened steel, so drilling it isn't going to be fun. And chances are it's going to be stuck in there good enough to break any extractor you try. Some good thread...

Looks pretty brutal over there... nasty earthquake, then tsunami, even the freaking volcano cut loose! Here's hoping they don't end up on the ocean floor as Atlantis Part II.

We had WAY more cars than that last year... and the year before, and so on. There are 60+ parking spots in the area that we always seem to fill entirely, according to Google's satellite view.

a question for someone smarter than me

Not unless your phone plugs into the other end... and I guaran-damn-tee it's going to be ass backwards, you'll end up with two male ends and no way to hook 'em together. The last thing you want is your phone plugged into a cable plugged into a cable plugged into a cable plugged into your MAFT...

a question for someone smarter than me

You'll need to build an adapter so that the phone can see a db9 serial interface. Then you'll need to write the code that allows Android to monitor the adapter you've built. Then you'll need to write the software to actually monitor the MAFT unit. It's not difficult, however, it sure is time...

May 14 - 15 is better for me... the 21 - 22 is both my 11th wedding anniversary and my son Jack's 5th birthday.

    First tool set

This is why I always remove the fill plug first, THEN pull the drain plug. If I can't get the fill plug out, it can wait. :)

    Carbon fiber feeler

Exactly my thought. I doubt it could be much worse than the targa itself - there's not much substance to them. Plus, I don't really care... If I had something that let me drive around with no roof, without having wind / cold to deal with , I'd be happy.

    First tool set

If you aren't going to be working on domestics, try to find a set that isn't half useless... err... I mean, not metric. Those wobble extensions are awesome. I'd also buy a set of flex head ratcheting wrenches. And you'll eventually need some allen head sockets, if you ever pull the head...

Break out the custom race dashboards

Not any time soon. Current displays are limited to about one change per second, which just isn't good enough. However, there are plenty of LCD style screens that are no problem to read in direct sunlight. Pretty much everything they use in the military has to be built with that in mind. They...
