For the timing belt, just check your tensioner, make sure you hold it tight to the left as you tighten the bolt down so it stays tight. eric

Yeah I'm fairly certain that's what it's for. They re-routed it near the end of this downpipe/exhaust most likely to reduce the amount of turbulence it would generate inside the pipe when it joined. Since it's at the end, any turbulence will be swiftly forced out the pipes anyway so not much...

Yes, side exit exhaust. It seperates into 3 pipes at the end to minimize ground clearance, as if you had that huge pipe exiting under the side of the car, then it would equal close to zero clearance :biglaugh:
