People reomend not runing hks FCD because MOST people do it to get ride of fiul cut without doing the nesscary fuel mods to go around or above 13 psi. Hks also designed it to go with there piggy back package. I assume your fcon has a 440 chip in it? Maybe look into a 550 chip and ditch the fcd...
If you need to machine the crank I sugest you remove the engine and do it. At minium, all new bearing for the mains caps, and conn. Rods, headgasket with proper prep, shim your oil pimp, front and rear main seals.
My other question for you is why did you get rod knock?
Not to be a dick but a HUMVEE is not a HUMMER. AT ALL. You said humvee that is a military vechicle. Hummers I don't know a lot about them. I know plenty about humvees.

Ok. My subie did the same thing during that strech. I readjusted to valves to subie spec .007. And bingo nice and quiet. (I hate the 2.5 motors I've R and R'd like 4 in the last 6 monthes.

For me, I DD a subaru imprezza. There really a mecahanics car. Very reliable, very very easy to work on, great gas milage and with these crazy new england winters awd drive is great. For me I will always have a toy, a bike, and a scooby doo.:)
