i had my exahust done today at the muffler shop. its just straight pipe from the downpipe back. i dont know if its because i have a 2j instead of a 7m or because of my turbo but it kinda sounds raspy at about 2k to 3500 rpms.
i have a friend that can hook me up with an inspection sticker so i dont have to run a cat at all so that helps me out alot. but for a while now i have been driving mine around with just the downpipe. because like you i have to save money and get parts. like exahust. and springs and stuff. your...
it looks huge! im running a garrett t67 with a .84 AR its working out ok. its only at 13psi right now though. i have been noticing on the stock clutch its almost impossible to brake boost without clutch slip. you should hurry up and let me know about how the spec works out for you.
sweet! i am waiting on my fans to get here then i can drive it to the muffler shop to get exahust. till then im stuck driving the worst oil milage spec v ever. 20 miles per quart....
yea i have the r154. some people like spec and some dont. i have only see 2 cars with spec clutches and they were both trashed. i dunno if it was driver failure or part failure.
i did all the wiring to mine myself. it was time consuming but not hard. took about 3 days. but im pretty good with automotive electrical. for the average joe i would agree just have someone else do it.
im still using the stock clutch until i get more info on the clutch i need for what i plan on doing with it. i plan on doing as much weight reduction as i can and doing some auto cross and scca event. any suggestions on brand and disc style?
i would say that the shorter the better just because it will be more responsive with less hose. kinda like how intercooler piping is. less piping less volume to fill less lag. but im no expert i just use common sense and basic physics so keep researching and let me know what you find.
ok i bought the 1jz downpipe and put it on. it fits perfect except the 2 bolt flange at the end is just clocked wrong. if you cut that off and rotate it or just install a v band flange it will work great. i took it around the block with open downpipe.... its a beast!
as would i... i have a 2j up and running but i have no idea about what size injectors i need or if they are high of low impedance or if a piggy back will work...
its wierd... i start thinking that things are hard then when im really into it i realize its really simple. i really didnt expect it to be this expensive but im just taking it a little at a time. got my t67 not too long ago and im trying to figure out a downpipe.
its been good. i got my t67 on the other day. and i am trying to figure out who can make me a downpipe and full 3" then i can drive it. its kinda wierd how quiet it is when their is absolutly no exahust on the engine after the turbo.
dont go royal purple, it is great oil for race engines that get rebuilt all the time but not for daily drivers. if you research it you will find that it is lacking a key ingredient... antil rust agents. it alows your internal parts that can rust to develop surface rust and eventally start...
i would check for a vaccum leak. intake gasket, vaccum lines, make sure you didnt crack a vsv connection or anywhere a vaccum line connects to something.
