Today I made a new oil drain for the turbo. 30degree fitting on the turbo straight on the engine, -10 size.
Then I went to bolt up the turbo and couldnt get to one of the bolts to the manifold, so gotta pull the turbo apart to reach it. Thank god for stubby wrenches!!!
Got everything...
What shop did the work, are they experienced with the 7M?
If not theres a chance the job was done incorrectly.
If i was you, i would at least retorque the head bolts/studs.
Got the turbo back, was fixed under warranty!!! yay!!!
I've got it pretty much all bolted up, just cant get to one of the bolts to the manifold. its so close to the chra and oil flange that i can't get a wrench on the nut.
Dyno appt for next saturday the 22nd. :)
Well I did fix the wiring issues, fixed the wideband, took out the jury-rigged wiring to ECU.
They said they'll replace my parts if I pay for the additional work they did (which i never agreed to.)
Still waiting to hear about the turbo, i'm hoping for sometime this next week.
Daaamn, thats like a mini coffin in the back of that thing...
You can never have TOO much bass!!! Then again I can barely hear low freq sounds cuz of my hearing problem so that might be why i think that. I hear the bass the same time i start feeling it lol
Always wanted to do a single 15"...
I do the same thing on my 92 sc400, drop it down into 1 at 25mph and the rear tires squeal a lil bit from engine braking.
The lex's have a341 trannys tho.
Some of you guys might have seen me bitching lately about the shop i brought my car to and all the issue that have arisen since.
Anywaaaaaay, this is just another thing i found the other day so i wanted to run it by u guys here.
I bought a batt relocation kit from summit...
So the day after the turbo seized i went to go pick up my car cuz i'm done dealing with this bullshit problem after problem. The whole reason i brought it to a shop in the 1st place was so i could get it done and drive it this summer... looks like thats not gonna happen.
The owner of the shop...
So the wiring problem was the switched power goin into the ecu from the engine bay fuse box.
Got the car on the roller to start tuning. Not building boost. Take the intake off and find a seized turbo...
This turbo has 0 miles on a fresh rebuild. Hopefully precision fucked up when they fixed...
Heading up to the shop to get the car back today, AEM tested the ECU and there was nothing wrong with it...
So i'm gonna see if they'll pay for the shipping and diagnostic of the ECU, and finish the car the right way this time...
Hopefully i'll have pics at home tonite.
WISH ME LUCK!!!
Any idea where I might find a check valve. I found that IJ is using a "fuel miser 102" metal PVC valve but I haven been able to find a source on where to buy them. The only other check valves I could find we're fuel check valves. Not sure if that would work. I saw the way nashman has his system...
That makes sense to me.
If I understand correctly I would need to have a sealed catch can with lines going from valve covers to catch can. Another line with a check valve or an orifice tube from the intake manifold to catch can to supply vacuum when not in boost. Lastly a line from the intake...
