Aw crap, you just reminded me i was talking about the wrong cable hahaa. I'm refering to the one the runs along the top of the tranny. It's the throttle linkage I think. The cable goes from the throttle right down to the tranny. I was confused as to how it comes out if I can't pull the end out...
I've got this thing separated from the engine but the speedo cable is still attached. I took off the bolt holding the end to the tranny, and the bolt holding the cable to the top of tranny, and I tried pulling the cable out and it's not coming, like it's attached from the inside. I tried...
Yeah I'm alone so far heh. One question; when I eventually get the bell housing bolts off, will the tranny basically fall off the motor onto me? Or, will it still be attached and require pulling away from the motor to free it?

Hm, good advice. I will try jacking up the front of the engine a bit. I worry about squishing the stuff on the engine bay though. I'm completely stock there, so I have the egr and all and i feel like I am already squishing it. I would prefer not to bend it all out of shape heh, but I might just...
Hey,
I'm in the middle of trying to get this thing out, engine still in car, and i have a question or so.
I lowered the tail end of it, but it only went down 4-5 inches; is this it? I don't think I can even see the top bolts let alone get at them. I did not loosen the motor mounts; would...
If you were interested in the ceramichrome contact Jdub I think is his name. He has good prices and does good work! The coating also looks very very nice :icon_bigg

First thing I thought of when I saw it again. This 1G is in a Cressidia in case anyone cares :icon_razz. His piping routing is strikingly similar.

Wow that looks so cool! Like spaghetti. It reminds me of the tri-turbo mk4 from back in the day; all the piping like a mating ball of garter snakes :icon_razz

Molest it! Be dirty! Love your car like no man should love a vehicle!!!!
I had myself a 92 teal turbo targa; enjoy this rare car. Post pics of your swap, it'll be very interresting to see. I would like better pics of the rear though, and that wing :naughty:

I did actualy just go for the 3 bolts holding the downpipe to the elbow after all :biglaugh:. I did it yesterday, using roughly 20" of extensions and a wobbly piece. Those bolts were stuck but luckily I also have a 24" breaker bar from years ago when I took a crank bolt off another 7m ;). I...
Locksmith will be able to cut from the passenger door code, I know because I had it done. Dealer would be much cheaper though, unless like me you are a CAA member and get x amount of free calls per year. The cool thing is the locksmith was even able to hand-file a blank key so it would work in...
Wow, i must suck then if it's that easy ahaa. I have box wrenches, but no ratcheting wrenches, just the stationary ones you turn, then remove, then put back on and turn. I still don't know how you guys do it for that one bolt, tuched way down between the turbo and motor. I can get the wrench on...
