Just finished my project and got some decent renders. Tell me what you guys think of these now. They look a bit better than the sketches ;). eric This last one I used the DoLuck mk4 as a background to see the headlight on a real image. I think it fits rather nicely.

It's not a big problem, but your life could have been easier. If you want to splice it into the stock dash harness, you will have to get those connectors or alternatively, hardwire it into the wiring. The second option will be hard. I would tryand get your hands on the digi dash cluster leads...

Yes you got it. Led strip down the centre of the rib just to give it some character. Not at the bottom like audi and mercs. From the side, i feel this light resembles an eye ball with the rib/led strip beign the retinal nerve. The leds would flash as the turn signal. eric

For a school project I had to chose something automotive related to create in solid works. Not too complex, such as a whole car, so I chose an mk4 headlight because I figured why not do something I might actually have interrest in heh. These are just the quicker sketches which I imported...

I ordered the black/red ones today, and found a local eye store that can get them and cut the lenses for even cheaper than online, so I'm happy :). I'll be able to try them on this week once they arrive to see if they look good too, before comitting to buy then. I'll most likely buy them though...

Exactly. You have to be good with small electronics as a mistake can cost hundreds of dollars :P. Thankfully, my electrical engineer of an old man is working with me on the hardware part of my cluster V2.0 so once he's done, I'll work on the outer casing and post progress pics. I'm just waiting...

The issue is that the big main board gets all of the input from the dash wiring harness, and it is two layers of electronic components sandwiched together. It likely does swend signals to the two smaller boards, so I don't think you would be able to use just the small board without the main one...

Those old formula race cars bring tear to my eyes whe nI hear that incredible sound coming from those engines. I much prefer them to the F1 cars these days. I like the lower grumbles of raw power; less finely tuned, less high pitched. That commercial, a bit old yes, is beautiful :). eric

For some reason, I think that's a beautiful car! It looks like fun for any day, rain or shine. I even think the sawblades look good (the drop probably helps). eric
