I think he'll be fine :). I mean it's a lot of power to be pushing out of a stock bottom end for sure, but Matt's been in contact with me every step of the way. We're planning on getting even more power out of it this summer when I fly out to tune it.
I guess the driftmotion stinger wiring diagram is incorrect.. since we both had the same problem when trying to get the car started for the first time. Interesting. Either way, it runs :).
Yes, the numbers should be lower than the 2JZGE head because, IIRC the 2JZGE has larger exhaust ports, allowing less backpressure, meaning less heat. The turbocharger's hotside also has a lot to do with the ignition timing numbers, for the same reasons.
You definately have a lot of leaning-out to do, it's literally killing your power from 3.5k-4.5k RPM. Keep in mind you're still on the stock ECU, so you'll probably have to mess with your FPR to get fuel and timing where it needs to be.
Great numbers, congrats! Can't wait to see the results...
Here's what you want to do to get it running.. you want to take it off locked timing, and keep adjusting the CPS until you get it to fire. You'll probably have to take it out and skip teeth to get it exactly where it needs to be. Then set the base timing to where you want it. I think 15* ended...
Haha, there are definately more RHD Silvias in my area than MKIII's.. which is rediculous. At least I have the only S13. I really like it, it doesn't have the stance, and luxury on the highway..it just feels cheap LOL. Whipping it around as my daily is great tho, I can and will drive this...
LOL I'm sure I'd feel the same way if they were a little more easy to import. The truth is, I really do hate having the exact same thing as everyone else, so that would never fly.
That's crazy, we have 3 S15's in my area, which are not "USDM", but mine is the first "JDM" S13 Silvia I've seen around.
It just has such a huge following, I'm not supprised there are so many in the OZ.
