it didn't plug and play for me, that's for sure... I used a 90+ dimmer and my own 92 dimmer on my 89, and it didn't work at all...

TEMS in the US ended with the MKIII if I'm not mistaken, but I know the JDM Soarer (Lexus SC) still got it.. I wonder when TEMS stopped being used, or if it's still in production..
