AFM + Carb Cleaner=Disaster

Ok I'll be the first to say that i'm a dumbass I know better than to spray carb cleaner on a highly sensitive piece of electronic equipment. But for some reason in my head, and only for a split second i thought it would be ok. It wasn't. Has anyone ever been able to bring an AFM back from the grave. Or does anyone know what goes into rebuilding one? Thanks

Yes, Yes it does ruin your afm. Time for a new one or good used one. Shouldn't be more than 40 bux used.

No. You can not bring it back from the grave. Start looking for one. I opened my afm up and it is all sealed. Dont waste your time. You could go speed density.

On a related note...the MAF cleaner I bought to use on my Mazda explicitly says not to use it on a Karmann Vortex (Which the Supra Turbo apparently uses) style air flow meter. Is there stuff that is safe for these? Or is there no real need to clean this type of meter? I ask cause every other car I've owned used the simple hot-wire type MAF.

You can (GENTLY) wipe the post clean. If you want to clean the housing, remove the sensor and use whatever you want. Just don't screw up the honeycomb.
