Think of it as a restrictor plate (shudders at Nascar reference). You can only flow so much air through a small hole. If your AFM is the bottleneck, you will gain power from the Lexus AFM.
Simple physics, if you decrease distance you must increase force. I could see someone trying to use the same force they used on the stock throw and missing a shift on the C's. It took me maybe a month to get fully accustomed to the shorter throw and increased effort, after that it's been...
Tein doesn't make anything TEMS compatible, but most of their coilovers can be adjusted using their EDFC. Much more flexible then TEMS, and much more money.
You can rig up a switch to check the engine codes, but the Supermonitor actually tells you the number (instead of reading blinks) and IIRC a very short description.
Couple of people requested videos, so here they are. You can quite distinctly hear the BIC DDP open up once full boost hits. ~20psi on a warm spring day. Right click and save as.
taking off normally then full throttle
boosting a little around a corner, then full throttle
blowing off...
It's going to depend on whether your AFM is your current bottleneck at your mod level. If you've got a stock turbo running stock boost you probably won't get any power. If you're running a huge turbo with a lot of boost you will definitely gain some power.
You have to actually take the switch apart using some small flathead screwdrivers. Inside there are a couple copper contacts that will fall out if you turn the switch upside down. Clean those with a rag and juggle them back into place.
The SOGI short shift is a decent mod, but it's not comparable to a real short shift kit. I've run both, the SOGI shortens the throw only a few percent, while the C's short shift cuts the throw in half. You get what you pay for, but IMO if you can't afford a real short shift then the SOGI is a...
Double and triple check that you've got the ignition wires on in the correct order. Also check for engine error codes. Any popping or backfiring when you rev it up?
Try taking your window switchs apart and cleaning the contacts inside, that is usually the problem.
Stock alarm is activated when you hit the door lock switch or lock the doors with the key. Unless you've got the enhanced factory alarm, the alarm can only be set off by opening a door, hatch...
Some people have good luck with the Illumina II's, some people don't. I know a couple guys with over 30k miles on Illumina II's. A lot of it depends on what spring you go with. Really stiff springs will probably blow them out quicker.
The required size of the exhaust will depend on your current mods. A moderatly to heavy modded N/A will lose no power going with a 3" exhaust, a light modded N/A will probably lose power off the line. The design of said 3" will also have an effect on power. Not all 3" are designed alike.
