bro has it on his car and has been running it without issue for over a year now. biggest thing is the paint isnt all that great as we are going to need to pull his off and repaint it in the coming weeks (flaking pretty badly) powdercoat would be the best bet
I looked over your posts and I think I might have some ideas for you.
1. you are missing the screw out of your afm. this is allowing you to take in a decent bit of unmetered air. My brother is running an upgraded turbo to ~ 12psi or so with the screw run out a good bit. Put it back in and...
it was a dealer/port installed option up until 91 when it became a factory option. from what i have seen on the dealer install jobs your better off getting a 91+ car and having it done right. buggy electronics, poor seals, etc seems to be the name of the game on the other ones.
agree with IJ those ARE pretty bad. normally you can get port some of the cracks out to help with increased flow on an upgraded ct but those are beyond repair. time to find a new snail as most turbo rebuilders wont touch one thats in that bad of shape
z32 only if you like toasting your engine harness....
z31 if you want second bet
supra if you want the best.
ps. this is a dumb question for a SUPRA forum.... over on the z forums you'd get the opposite responses
imagine breathing through a soda straw and then trying to breath through a rain gutter. at the exact same power the larger turbo will make more power as more air can flow through it more easily.
theres another difference though too. a correctly sized turbo will make more power (area under...
theory is great until you hit reality.... the new ic will make the intake track less restrictive so i would expect to see FC in the near future for you
honestly i think its just a problem with flow in that you have too much of it. yes with a lex afm you should be able to run into the high teens but there are some stars* next to that that your setup throws up.
1. BIC DDP - these are famous for the amount of exhaust gas they flow, I have seen...
never had a problem in the 3 years i have been running mine. bro doesnt run one either as of about 1-2 years ago. even if you do get hassled by the fuzz and get a fix it ticket just slap on the cat and show up that its been fixed.
the main times it seems to be a problem is at car meets when...
i got a feeling it was maybe intentional or a rush job. on the intentional side it would make sense to have 2 maps, 1 to use for the first few runs to say theres a problem (just add in fuel and retard timing to make it sputter up to) and then negotiate hard and get the "fixed" map loaded...
Didnt really miss anything. First mustang broke, some problems with the Cressida where it was breaking up under boost, first mustang blew out the hg, cue mustang 2, got 2 races and then they couldn't get mustang 2 started. I agree that i wish they had run the cressy all out but I think the stang...
ditch the stock cat, install that dp and it will get louder. if you want even louder remove the resonator before the muffler and that will make it louder also
