1JZ catch can hose size question

I'm putting a breather catch can on my 1JZ and I was wondering what size hose I need to run from the valve cover to the can. The can is just going to have a filter on the other side of it, I'm not running it back to the turbo inlet. I bought a can on ebay, and it came with 3/8" ID hose (the...

    Got Screwed Over on eBay

I got screwed buying a motorcycle that I bid on, but didn't make reserve (have a feeling he did a super high reserve on purpose). The guy msg'd me after it ended unsold and asked if I wanted to buy it for my bid price cause he doesn't want to list it again. This was before the "second chance...

    Need help deleting the ABS?

Your insurance company could do that... but there's a strong argument that since it was only an option on the car, they can't require you to have it. Especially if you use OEM parts to delete it. They could also say that your modified engine made the car go faster than the stock brakes could...

Need OEM part number for the plastic outside B pillar covers

Oh, cool. Thanks for the info. I guess the tabs aren't broken off of one of mine... must be from a targa top model. I looked up those retro-spec ones, the CF ones are nice. Maybe I'll spray paint these ratty ones for now and save up for those.

Need OEM part number for the plastic outside B pillar covers

Talking about the ones that go behind the side window glass that cover the vent holes. Anyone recently bought a set of these have the OEM number, or are they no longer available new? :aigo: Mine have busted tabs and are ugly and I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do with them...

The absolute worst looking MK3, ever?

The black abomination made me slightly convulse in disgust. I have a strong feeling that the owner of that thing actually thinks it looks cool. It reminds me of a local kids car from a few years ago.... a VW golf with 14 gallons (not guessing here, the owner told me) of bondo applied over the...

Snow plus Supra equals a very slow drive home

Buy a beater. You'll drive much better not worrying about ruining a car you like. If you drive in the snow eventually someone WILL run into you, or run into your car while it's parked. Buy a car for less than $500 that's fugly but passes inspection and run it for as long as it will run before...

    Brake Area Producing Hissing Sound

Yeah, you really should only ever need to add brake fluid if you: 1. Have a leak 2. Took apart something that let brake fluid out. 3. Are bleeding the brakes. Otherwise the brake fluid should be full with new pads on all 4 corners and the reservoir should hold exactly enough fluid that the...

    W58 clutch fork problem

Thanks for the reply, it did look longer, but I still didn't get around to pulling the old one to make sure.... good to know. I put the project car on hold for now till after christmas. Needs exhaust and tires and a bunch of trim and small detail stuff.

main fusible link messed up, wtf....

The one I was talking about is attached directly to the battery positive terminal. I was going to put a 100 amp fuse in, but I read on a few websites that fuses and fusible links don't work exactly the same, fusible links allow short duration current spikes but still protect against long...

From a Dig? Or a Roll?

Roll. I don't enjoy breaking things just to put someone in their place, so I try to avoid launching any of my cars hard on the street. Plus 4 lane highways with stop lights are few around here. They're all in the middle of a town/city, where all the cops lurk. Plus, it's embarrassing when the...

main fusible link messed up, wtf....

Called the dealer... they told me to use 14awg link. It's black and it came in a six inch long piece with the ends pre stripped, so that's the length I'm installing. Whatever.

main fusible link messed up, wtf....

Some idiot cut the main blue fusible link on my car down to a useless stub, and now I need to fix it before I can hook my battery up. I was reading that you're supposed to replace fusible link with the same color and length, but I have no idea what the original length was, and the color is...

I ordered a MKIV non-turbo clutch fork, and it looks like it's longer. I'll be taking the trans down this weekend to find out for sure.

    milky crap on cap!!

All the starting and warming up you did probably added more condensation than it removed. I drive 5 minutes to work everyday, just enough to hit operating temp a hundred feet from my destination. You should see the oil cap on my car. Looks like my crankcase is full of sour milk. This is why I...

    W58 clutch fork problem

I'm in the middle of swapping a 1JZ into my car, using a 7MGE W58 trans that I had around. I bought a 2JZGE bell housing (MKIV n/a) and put it on the trans, but the mounting pad for the slave cylinder is farther out and the slave cylinder doesn't line up with the clutch fork anymore. Looks like...
