hehe.... i know the feeling... i swapped all sorts of bits when my ecu failed, because i a) thought they were responsible and b) could get them easily... but yeah.... if you are fairly sure that is whats at fault, find someone local with a similar car and bribe them to let you test your car...

easiest way to test it, is to swap it with a known good ecu...

according to the GM dex vi bottles, it's not automatically backwards compatible with dex iii... gm often recommend it for systems which ones used dex iii, but it does also state on the bottle something about not being an automatic replacement for dex iii in power steering systems... btw... as...

certainly sounds like as good a sign as you're going to get, short of removing it from the tank and testing it...

gearbox, clutch, clutch pedal, master and slave cylinders.. you won't need to replace the ecu or wiring harness, as the auto ones will work, although you'll need to do something about the neutral safety switch... it's been done plenty, as for whether i could locate any write ups, not so sure...
