im doing a 1jz swap and im finding it difficult to find a 1jz gte with manual ecu. dose anyone know what i would need if i got a 1jz with auto ecu and i wanted to do a r154 swap.

gearbox, clutch, clutch pedal, master and slave cylinders.. you won't need to replace the ecu or wiring harness, as the auto ones will work, although you'll need to do something about the neutral safety switch...
it's been done plenty, as for whether i could locate any write ups, not so sure, i know a mate of mine did have some fairly detailed stuff up, but don't know if it's still around...

i also keep finding these water power cooled 1jz's is there a way to make them fan clutch or electric fan

all jza70's had hydraulic fans, and they work _really_ well...
asides from the lines needing replacing eventually (they are 20 year old cars now, and rubber lines fail eventually) it's a pretty good setup...

My 7M 86.5 has a turbo engine swap and manual swap and I have no problems with the stock ecu which is a 7MGE ecu, although I do have an apexi safc2 piggyback... I'm not sure if my car had problems with the ecu because I didn't do the swaps the previous owner did.
so i got a 1jz on its way, and it has that hydraulic fan stuff but no fan. Is there a way to get a fan for it or eliminate the hydraulic fan stuff.

Yes, you can use the 2JZ water pump and fan set-up. I believe you will need the original fan shroud from the 7M too(?) However, the Hydro-fan that the 1J uses, does a great job!

that op was speaking in regards to trans control, not EM.
Id call DM or kazien (sp?). They should be able to tell you exactly what to do with the auto ecu for a manual.
