Ok, cool! I always though there was a difference.
Now for S-AFC, it will work yes but it's POS IMO. WHY? Let me start... As I said before it scales the signal. This is LESS then IDEAL because while it scales back the Map sensor signal it also scales you back to a different timing / fueling...
Really? Hrm. Always was under the impression that the 2jz was mapping to 18 psi vs the 1jz which only mapped to 14.7
(yes you'll hit fco at 14 ish) but still once you got around that 5V would be at 18 not 14.7-15ish.
Drop in, but I believe I said they may need to be shimmed depending on your clearances!
Exactly.
Ok Sorry for not seeing this earlier Sam... You have a few problems my friend let me try to help you fix them
Here is the list of problems you have.
You installed 440's but still have...
AHHHH you where at the Quebec supra meet.... So was I... I saw you dyno in the black 1jz.....
It sounded pretty nice but the powerband is laggy regardless of what you say ;)
I ran a similar lag setup (even laggier by a good 500 RPM) and it wasn't for me... I think with your GT30 setup you...
I will this weekend when i get home i'm acutally going to have time to work on it for the first time in a long time.
I was out lapping with the mk4 today... I guess the oil cooler isn't enough I need some ducting as well.. 140ish C Oil temps are cooking and the breaks need some good fluid...
I'm very choosy when i mod my cars now... the mk3 was just too wild.. i'm not looking for 10000 hp.
I want maximum hp with minimal discomfort. Meaning no more stright though 3"/4" exhausts... Cats are a must. No solid motor mounts, no hard suspension. ect. having suspension that is uber stiff is...
Remember mine is a Canadian edition if that matters but I don't think it does according to the TSRM.
I havn't changed any valve or master. It's all original....
Hi supradjza80 and all..
I don't know how the calcs are right because if you drive my car you'll understand. I'm not I'm probably not running the most ideal setup here (will get in to that later) but if ANYONE is running non ABS, I'd advise to NOT upgrade until you get the rears as well.
An...
Agreed, but the amount of dive relative to the amount of stopping power is not equal to what it was with stock setup.
Well I've never upgraded the breaks before, but I was hoping that it would simplely give me less fade by having a bigger heat sink. I didn't expect how touchy they would be to...
IJ, I'm trying to restore the balance I had when stock... I guess I have to wait like Doward said... I guess it's one of those upgrades with unforeseen consequences. I didn't expect the results of what I got when I got the BBK. The situation is magnified because like 90% of all supra owners out...
So does anyone have the actual piston sizes....
Doward - you are the expert, can you explain why the front is so touchy vs the stock system if it's not the Bias, (as it's equal to stock) then it has to be the pad area, and piston pressure or something else.
I admit I'm no breaking expert, I...
Ok, so looks like form the PM's and the activity going on in this forum not everyone agrees with what is being presented.
SO lets talk.
#1 Upgrading your front breaks ONLY with a NON-ABS car will throw out your bias depending on what you are putting on, how much bigger how much more clamping...
