The Problem: For the last 8 years I've taken my 90 Targa MK3 from a perfectly stock, high mileage N/A car to a mildly upgraded turbo beast. From the start, my build was done with a certain power level in mind - 300-340whp. This is about where the 7MGTE ECU starts...
The coolant jacket seals in the head gasket on cylinder 6 (rear) and 4 (exhaust side) are compromised and explains your loss of coolant and weak compression results.
The head should be machined flat. Before doing that, though, you should call around and find a machine shop with a hardness...
Good ideas. My pricing on that kind of piece, however, would probably be double that Subaru example. Those sort of larger molded plastic pieces are cake when you're making a few thousand of them, but quite expensive in small batches. Maybe I could do some carbon work and make it economical/sexy...
Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out the viability of some boost controller mounting products. I don't really have a good feel for which product is used most widely. Help me out and let's create a data point for the mk3 community!
What Boost Controller do you use?!
I'd love that as well, but I think that's a big challenge from a manufacturing perspective with super low volumes. I'd probably pursue a carbon fiber version with a very light aluminum frame reinforcement and probably actual grommets to mount it so it doesn't just tear through the holes.
Good...
If he has (and he should) Collector car insurance with agreed value written in the binder he should get everything.
PSA to all enthusiasts on here with a Supra as a 2nd (or 3rd or 4th, etc..) vehicle that's garaged, get agreed value coverage on it. If you have a clean driving record it's cake...
Haha, the 4:20 was a happy accident. Although I'm from Colorado so... perhaps that's just my best time of day. ;)
The green color is a no-cost change for me. I just need to order some up. This red one has worked very well so far so I'll order up a bunch more in Red, Green, Blue and White...
Best way to do it would be to make a mold out of something rigid. Fiberglass castings would probably work, but ideally you'd have something harder. It'd be really good to have a profile CNC'd in wood which you could then use as a mold for fiberglass or carbon fiber. If you're going through all...
The vent on the bottom is a rubber piece that fits snugly into the hole in the bottom of the canister. After the rubber piece is a metal tube with a slight bend. That metal tube fits into a hole in the fender. The metal sticks through the hole and vents underneath the car, keeping gasoline...
Voltmeter Prototype installed and functional! I'll make some changes to the fitment and get another printed, but it's looking great so far.
Another part I'm working on is the Cargo Cover Holder Clips. These seem to be broken on most every mk3. My new part will have slightly less...
Eek. I was going to say that's really poor on the dealer's end, but without knowing about the shielding problem I can see how they wouldn't have many other options.
Do dealer techs ever bother to do a google search? If you search "code 52 supra" into google the first handful of results are the...
Eek! Hopefully insurance will cover all the parts.
Your build has a lot in common with my next build. Similar power goals and a lot of overlapping parts. I'm going to get it lightly modded (~300-350 whp) while I prep for a 500+hp build.
The rattle canned engine bay looked real nice - I'll...
I guess my main concern is shock replacement. Are the shock cores/cartridges generally replaceable? The coilovers are less appealing if the whole thing is toast once a shock is blown.
Thanks, that's a great tutorial on adjustment. However, I'm more after the build specs of the Zankoku system in particular.
That video shows about an inch of exposed case height... I probably have 5-8 inches right now and I can't imagine there's much left to adjust out.
