Damn, that is a good deal. I don't see whether or not it is ball bearing though. Am I missing something?

1987 Supra Turbo Build * Running first factory LHD Digidash Swap*

Thanks for the advice. I'll check that out. Anyway, I made a bit more progress with the megasquirt unit. I already had one built for the Delorean I used to own, so I just have to modify it for use with the 7m. I pretty much did exactly what speedfreak426 did to run the stepper motor idle air...

1987 Supra Turbo Build * Running first factory LHD Digidash Swap*

Okay, here are some more pictures of the progress I have gotten done so far. Pulling out the old interior... And the old cracked dash... Bare floor ready to be vacuumed and cleaned up... Borrowing the wife's side of the garage for a bit. This is a lot of stuff! My wideband...

1987 Supra Turbo Build * Running first factory LHD Digidash Swap*

Hey everyone, my name is Dane and this is the build thread of my car. Now, to start off with, I’m 27 and am in the Navy, stationed in Whidbey Island, Washington. The car is a 1987 Black targa top Supra Turbo with a brown interior and a smell of mold. The car was free to me because it wouldn’t...

    ABS light headache

I know this is an old thread, but did you ever fix it? I had the same problem, and it ended up being some corrosion on the ECU-IG fuse in the driver side kick panel. Cleaned that and everything worked again, cruise control, tems, ABS, and the Progressive Power Steering. I would seriously check that.

    ball bearing turbo

Okay. Thanks for the help. I think the Sr might be a bit too aggressive. I wish the jr was still in productuon. Are there any turbos around the 400hp range? Unless these spool quicker than I'm thinking...

    ball bearing turbo

Hey all, I've been searching on here for the answer but can't find it. Does anyone make a ball bearing turbo that would bolt right up in place of the ct26? If anyone knows where this info is on the forum, please point me in that direction as well! Thanks.

Operation: New Lease on Life (1986.5 build)

Well you wouldn't believe it. I was getting frustrated because I felt like I couldn't get it running. I was so close. Anyway, I decided to pull the cam cover and make sure the cps was set correctly. When I pulled the timing cover, I discovered the exhaust cam was set 90 degrees retarded. I reset...

Operation: New Lease on Life (1986.5 build)

Well, I figured out the issue with the starter and ignition. Connector B1 wasn't in all the way. Now if only it would run! It cranks and fires a few times. It's acting like it really want to run. I just wish it would do it.

Operation: New Lease on Life (1986.5 build)

Well, I got the fuel pump to come on. Now, there are several other issues going on now. When I turn the key to start, the starter relay clicks, but I get no voltage at the starter. If I hook a wire up to the solenoid, the starter cranks the engine fine. There is also no 12 volts at the coil...

Update for you guys. Anyone know what these connectors go to (the clear one and the yellow one)?

Operation: New Lease on Life (1986.5 build)

Well, update for you guys. I replaced the cam position sensor, cranked it up, and nothing. It cranks and cranks, but the engine doesn't fire. I couldn't hear the fuel pump prime, but I heard somewhere that the fuel pump doesn't kick on till the engine is cranking or running, so I didn't think...

Operation: New Lease on Life (1986.5 build)

So here is the new donor car. I am seriously thinking of just making this the project car and using the other car for parts. This is weird though. It has a distributor as a cam angle sensor. The engine was just rebuilt, as was the turbo. I looked at the oil and it was very clean. The A/C system...

Operation: New Lease on Life (1986.5 build)

I guess I should have elaborated on that front. I am wanting a nice GT-sorta car. Something that feels at home driving 80 on the freeway, yet is fun on the twists and turns of a mountain road. I don't even know who makes TEMS Shocks. To tell you the truth, I am pretty new with the Supra and the...

Operation: New Lease on Life (1986.5 build)

Okay good to know. I have a couple pictures of the trans I will be uploading here soon for you guys to look at. What suspension do you guys recommend going with? Is a TEMS-compatible shock worth it, or not really?

Operation: New Lease on Life (1986.5 build)

I saw that about the distributor. I'm hoping maybe it could be something simple like a sensor or maybe the something even easier. Anyway, if I do get it, I will probably be putting lots of stuff up for sale that I don't need. It is nice that it's the same color as the car I currently have. I...

Operation: New Lease on Life (1986.5 build)

Hey guys, I'm debating on getting this. I talked with the people who own it and it is still for sale. What do you think? http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/3372576143.html

Operation: New Lease on Life (1986.5 build)

Hey thanks a lot. Yeah, you might be right about it not being motronic. I always thought k-jetronic was like a mechanical fuel injection system where there was a flap in the airway that lifted when you opened the throttle. That was hooked to a linkage to a fuel regulator which upped the pressure...
