must be the same tranny that was in the SVT Focus. those trannies are pretty sweet.
too bad their warranty doesnt cover the diesel trucks, of all things. youd think thatd be the one they back up more readily.
whatever you get, make sure its a full face w/ marcel spring. thats what you need to have a smooth, driveable car.
ive felt clutches that are supposed to hold 600tq and they are no big deal at all. and when i get in a car like a stock civic or my rx7, i go to put it in gear and i stomp the...
for 12v or high tension?
ive always made my own shielded wire for 12v stuffs... i didnt know you could buy it pre-sheilded. id assume that if you can, mcmaster-carr would carry it.
yes, that i cant argue with..
the RH series, the RE series, all the FWD trannies ahve that stupid ass solenoid buzz going from park to any gear, or ocming to a stop. ugh... why couldnt dodge have outsourced their trannies too.
actually, Subaru derived that from their rally stuffs. its an integrated H-pattern roll cage. the car can support its entire weight sitting upside down on the roof. few cars, if any, in that class have an integrated roll over protection system like the subarus do. going from the GC-series...
here is my other exhaust.
4" mandrel DP, straight pipe, no cat into a double-wall, resonated, stainless steel, angle cut tip. sounds just like my supra
oh yeah... and lots of the new diesels have 100k oil change intervals because they have a recirulation that injects waste engine oil into the fuel filter and mixes w/ the diesel. you just keep adding fresh oil and change the filter as normal; ever 7-10k miles.
and soot IS heaver than air, it...
the mk3 does very well in head on and frontal offset collision. rear collision isnt as good but pretty sufficient. the side impact, not too sure.
ive had a friend who had an early 87 turbo and took a tree to the passenger frame rail at about 45. both doors opened and they walked away. the...
uh well... you can either cut up your seat and hope you find the mounting point inside... or see if you can find some 89+ seats.
edit; :( burgundy makes me sad... im so happy i swapped my interior.
lol... WHAT???
you talkin about the guides that mount to the front seat head rests and contain the shoulder belts?
if so... you need the right seats to mount them to. you have a pre89 and i know that the guides didnt appear till at least 89... i have an 87 seat with no guides.
youre...
the guy is talking about making tiny slits in the tread blocks, not cutting additional full-sized grooves/channels, right?
siping is the tiny grooves which aid in extracting water for improved ice traction. a perfect example of great siping is Blizzaks. i had a set on the Impreza...
mkiv is def 9006 for lows and H3 for fogs i think.
for the MKIV lows, youre gonna want a D2S with a casper sheild/adaptor. this will let you use a GENUINE D2S bulb and not some rebased unit built made in a sweat shop.
in addition to HID"s needing to warm up, they have to cool down too...
yeah, im with dave on this one... ive been around these cars since 02 and dont recall anything about an underbody cross brace and/or subframe connectors.
poodles is right about ground clearance. i have 3" side exits and im stock height. i scrape those on occasion.
carbs are cheaper, thats about their only upside. most of the time, they arent even much cheaper than say, FAST or Speed-pro or whatever other aftermarket EFI. isnt there a thing called LS1edit or LSedit or something? i hear thats pretty easy. As someone who has tuned AEM cars before... ill tell...
John, you have a T88 too? what size exh housing do you have?
ive made more than 300 on 440's in my 91... i think its safe to say im over 300 on my 89 right now too. if everyone here thinks you need 550's to do what you said... man, they are wacky.
what TB are you running? if you are keeping a stocker (not that you would want to) youll need to use a pre 89 since those have a base idle adjustment screw... like mine
i dont have an ISC and thats how i adjusted my base idle. it was too low. now its about 850. i have no cold start or high...
