Digikey has worked for me, but you have to know part numbers and such. If you aren't pretentious about your connectors, find other Japanese vehicles at your nearby junkyard. Many of the connectors are the same as on other cars. Signature changed to make Bird happy.

That is correct. That is what I did anyway. Signature changed to make Bird happy.

I put mine above the glove box. It fit there alright. I had to ditch the glove box light...oh well. Signature changed to make Bird happy.

Shawn, what are you running as far as software for tuning? I highly recommend Tunerstudio. Signature changed to make Bird happy.

    Megasquirt thread: Megasquirt and You

Dwell is automatically controlled by the ignitors in the ls coils, so you can charge them longer without them cooking. I heard the same thing between the ls2 and lq4/9 coils. You trade off a hotter spark for max rpm's though. Signature changed to make Bird happy.

I think the auction expired. I just looked and couldn't find it. Signature changed to make Bird happy.

Hahaha, I was wondering how well a bunch of Supras would be accepted at a place that is all about 'Merica.

No problem. On ebay, the coils are under $100 for a set of 8. They are used, but honestly those coils are pretty reliable. Plus, you have 2 extras! I'm not cheap, but I don't believe in needlessly spending money if I don't have to. I haven't heard of anyone having a problem with LS coils up to 4...

They are. I'm just saying as far as price goes, I believe the LS coils are cheaper. Driving them is pretty much the same as they are both smart coils.

What about running LS1 coils? They are internally triggered, so the 5v TTL output from megasquirt can drive the built in ignitors no problem. I grabbed that image from post 699 of the elite engine bay thread. It is just really well put together. Edit: LS2 coils.

Hahaha, a transversely oriented mid engine 2jz swapped NSX. That doesn't sound expensive at all! I couldn't imagine the fabrication and engineering that it would take to accomplish that.

Hahaha, no. Well, maybe. I have to sell the car before I move to Texas. The next car will be either a MKIV 6-speed or an early NSX though. Not sure which yet. I kinda prefer the looks of the NSX, but I like the insane power that can be had from the 2j powerplant. Speaking of Honda's my wife is...

No problem dude! If it helps, I can screenshot my conservative timing table and send it to you. The more aggressive one is tuned to my knock sensors. I would really advise to hook up your knock sensors to megasquirt though. I have an aggressive timing map now, but if it senses knock, it pulls...

I wish I was keeping my car long enough to paint it... I'm keeping it just long enough to finish the digidash install.

jdmfreak's A NEW BEGINNING (BUILD THREAD)

If you have it, I would experiment around with it right now. That way you will be a bit more patient with building the new motor. Just be a bit more conservative with the timing, since the NA is higher compression and doesn't have oil cooled pistons.
