as cuel says for code 14 check the wiring.
In my post i said id found my code 14 problem to be the alarm. That was after id replaced the igniter the coil and the ecu. id also checked the wiring with a multi meter etc. I only discovered a splice in the wire to the alarm by accident. It was...
haha no bother dude, i only mentioned the ford filter as its sat for ages now in my lock up. the ford has now been scrapped and its the same diameter as the toyota filter and looked to be same thread. and since the engine is likely knackered if it would fit then id be ok with it. (im gonna as a...
ive still got a black one from last time. id be up for another aswell. perhaps a blue one this time. ill keep tabs on this thread to see if you decide to change the design but i do kinda like the last one i got from you. then again freshness is always cool
does the engine idle a bit high? that could be a vac leak.
sounds daft but are you sure all the ht leads are on the correct spark plug?
afm plugged in correctly?
pas idle up hose conected?
as above check the tps out as per the tsrm
hmmm ok. i can borrow an engine crane. if not i can borrow scaffold and use an electric whinch type thing. i have fairly comprehensive socket set. Can always buy more stuff if needed.
I am fairly competent at working on cars. services, changing brakes shockers usual stuff. ive just never...
dont attempt it mate. have you tried checking for fault codes yet? get a paper clip and jump terminals te and e1 and turn the ignition on and see what the engine light flashes like. if it flashes steadily then you have no codes. other wise you will see a series of flashes then a pause then more...
my friend, I have owned my supra for 5 years now. done a fair few miles in it and regularly serviced it etc. With toyota filters. I have now been burdened with another supra to either see if i can sort the engine or consider removing the engine from my car.
The supra ive owned for the past 5...
how long at a rough guess would it take to remove an engine and put it into another car? ive never done this sort of thing before. I know its easier to pull engine and box. and the car the engine will go in is a manual but it would come out of an auto.
engine is a 7m ge
any other tips?
was just wondering if it was a commonly used thread id use the spare ford filter if i had to start the engine again to move the car.
The car is in parked in my street not on a drive way or anything so would poss have to be moved at some point. also id either have to do any work to the car in...
imagine if someone steped out infront of you and you hit them, say they may normally get maybe a broken bone or something. what if they caught some part of themselves in the engine pulleys or something. messy
ill hav to drop th oil as and when i can. i picked up a new filter so i can whip the old one off and check it before droping the oil. seems silly to have to put fresh oil in if the engine is toast only to have to drain it again. off hand does anyone know if oil filters in general have the same...
has your car got an old alarm system fitted? uk cars came with a dealer fitted scorpion or piranha alarm. on my car the relays inside the alarm had failed causing an intermitent code 14 which would either make the engine not start or randomly kill it when driving. would be a bitch to get started...
ohh and i should imagine it would need to be a good few degrees below freezing for the water in the water jacket to freeze. Id say you probably will be ok but to change it before winter hits
anti freeze (coolant) is apart from the obvious, a corrosion inhibiter and a summer coolant aswell as having anti freezing properties. well apparently it does anyway. thats what i was taught at college
tried removing the plug leads. the injector plugs were a bit tight so thought it best to avoid them for now.
the noise is still present though seemed to be a bit quieter with number 2 plug off.
It also seems to have quietend down a lot since i put oil in it. (obvious i guess)
on a cold start up it goes tap tap tap tap as can be heard in my video a few posts back. that was started from cold after standing for a couple of days
